Reception and staff - horrible
Transportation - horrible
Facilities - horrible
Location - horrible

My plane wasn't late and I loved the city. This review wasn't influenced bye any other factor other than the horrible horrible hotel service and accomodation.

We saw the pictures which really presented an idealis location close to Rome, only if you hired a car, which lucky for us we did. The furniture as we are Club La Costa members was supposed to be updated every 4 years, not the case. As for some of the pots in the room really if you cooked in them it is a life hazard - they are that bad. Especially the frying pan, it was rusty and horrible.

The bed is like a rock, really takes a hard mattress to the next level. Swimming pool closed on a Saturday and closed hours during the day, there is nothing else for you to do. The Actual place is located within a housing estate and the Hotel is just a really small part of it. The building is in dire need of a paint job and if you do not have transportation there is no where to walk to you have to rely on the hotel shuttle. Although the room is kept clean it really is very old and not what I am used to. There is a restaurant not much availble if you are a vegetarian. Why they say Golf Club - this is a totally separate establishment and nothing to do with the Carpedium and it is really expensive.

If you have allergies and have very sensitive skin do not stay here, I reacted to something in the room and it really was not nice, I was ill for the whole week, they do not have a doctor on site or any other medical backup. The rooms are really small and very dusty, there is no washing facility. There is a washing machine located in the garage and you will need 10 Euros to get the washing done. The TV was - well not really worth watching - had it not been for our hired car and my illness it really is a very boring place. There is nothing to do and Rome is a fair distance away.

If you do go here than ask for a room facing the Golf course, that is really pretty, nothing on the otherside, well nothing attractive worth looking at.

The only saving grace for this place in my opinion was the reception staff, they were really friendly and lovely, always ready to help. If you like a really quite holiday than this is a great location. Other than that I would not recommend or ask anyone to go here, I cannot believe that Club La Costa had this as one of their locations available to their members. Don't join Club La Costa that is my other advice to you - worst mistake I have ever made and such a waste of money.

We went with our children who really were bored out of their brains, we had to go out everyday. Italy is a really lovely place so do go to Italy just avoid the Carpedium.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing golf course.

We went with Club La Costa, as one of our holidays and it was the worst place for location we have ever stayed at. In their brochure it says that it is 10kms from the centre of Rome. What a joke!!
To get to Rome each day you need to get a shuttle, which runs at 9.30 am or 1 p.m. It then takes half an hour on the shuttle to reach the outskirts of Rome. You then need to get the metro and it is about 8 stops to get to Rome Terminal (I should remember exactly how many stops having had to do this every day!!!) You, therefore, don't arrive in Rome until 10.30 -10.45 a.m. It costs 6e return per person per day and the metro is 16e per person for the week. Therefore, it costs over 100e for a couple just to get to and from Rome for the week (Sunday to Friday).
The shuttle then returns at 2 p.m. or 7 p.m., which means that wherever you are in Rome that at about 6 p.m. you have to start thinking about making your way back, because you still have to get the metro back to Rebbibia for the shuttle!!!! My husband nicknamed it the prison, because once back at the resort there was absolutely nothing you could do, apart from go to the little cafe/bar (to call it a restaurant, would be giving it far too much praise). The alternative was a restaurant nearby that came to pick you up by taxi. The golf cub shut at 4 p.m., so that wasn't even an option.
There was no shop (the cafe sold about 10 items), so we asked where the nearest supermarket was. When we said we were going to walk there she advised us not to, because it was 2 km away and the way there was on un made roads. The shuttle did not run on Saturday and would have cost us 20e a couple, just to go and get our shopping!!!! So we walked it and we did take our lives into our own hands and it was more like 4 kms away!!!!!
There was no welcome tea or coffee, which considering there was no shop was poor show!!
The cafe/bar, which I will say was run by three very nice local Italians, was only meant to stay open until 10 p.m. One night I must admit we persuaded them to stay open later, but in the end they started turning the lights off around us. They also shut on a Monday night, so then there is absolutely nowhere on site to go, so we had crisps and peanuts in our room, playing cards!!!
If you decided to get a taxi, because you wanted to stay in Rome for the evening, they charged 30e, but that was still only from the metro not the centre. One night we decided to do that and arranged to share with another couple, but even then it goes up to 40e when there are 4 of you. They get you at every turn!!!
There is absolutely nothing near the resort it is literally in the middle of nowhere, so no nice walks etc. We didn't use the pool, because it is not open on Saturdays and Sundays, doesn't open till 10 a.m., so obviously the rest of the time, we were in Rome.
All in all, don't go there under any circumstances, if you want to see Rome at leisure, because it was the most stressful holiday I have ever had!!!!!

Room Tip: overlooking the golf course.

We stayed for a week in February with our two children (10 & 14). We have stayed in a lot of timeshare accommodation over the past 15 years, in Europe and the USA, so can make fair comparisons. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished. Not spacious by USA standards, but the one-bedroom apartment was fine for the four of us. There is a compulsory Euro 35 weekly charge per adult for use of the pool & sauna. Not much else on site to entertain, other golf of course, but special mention goes to the small but excellent bar & restaurant which is very friendly with a surprisingly good range of inexpensive food from breakfast to until 10.00pm, closed Mondays. The resort offers a bus shuttle for the metro station, and some day excursions, but these are rather expensive and inflexible. Highly recommend that you hire a car. Depending upon traffic, the metro is 20-30mins drive and parking is only Euro 1.50 for the day and 1 Euro for the trip into Rome

We had a 3 br condo two floors. Split the cost among 3 couples. View is great and the little restaurant was good. Nice owners too! We were prepared for the worst because of the reviews but were pleasantly surprised. Know it going in that they charge 35 euro per person for use of the health club whether you use it or not. Still a bragain even with that, Car is an absolute need here.

this resort /apartment was the most basic we have stayed in with r.c.i./club la costa in the 10 years or so we have been members although we did find the staff to be friendly and helpful. our main complaint was that on arrival at the local metro station latish on the saturday evening we were stranded for about 2 hours trying to get a taxi out to the resort. the phone number i was trying to contact the resort with (on our confirmation sheet) was not their reception number - please make sure you have the correct contact number, if we had had our 2 children with us i would of been frantic standing there on what seemed to me to be a mere by-pass/dual carriageway in the dark! the resort shuttle bus they run to and from the metro station doesn't run on a saturday which is one of their checking in days!! the days it does run you have to be back on it by 7pm so no nice romantic evenings in Rome for us as it was too expensive for us to taxi it back. Rome was fabulous though and i can't wait to go back - just stay closer or actually in the city next time. oh and our room flooded on the 3rd night there, we had to pack everything up and move to another room which we did under our own steam with no help from the staff, i think the receptionist may have been on duty on her own - no mention of any recompense though as in maybe a free breakfast or shuttle travel as way of an apology. husband tried the pool which he said was rather cold and the gym was very ill equipped.

We choose this as part of a time share exchange. It was a way to see Rome at a reasonable price during the high season. I was glad we went dispite reading some other reviews.
We did not rent a car and we had trouble getting a cab from Rebbia metro station. Once we got the cab, the driver didn't know where the place was and dropped us off next door. Once you find it the first time you will be ok. We used the hotel shuttle into Rome each day. It left at a perfect time in the morning, but we would have liked an option to stay in town later each night. A rental car would allow for more flexibility in that area and I recommend it if staying here. We relied on the kindness of our neighbors to drive us to a local grocery store and to dinner a few nights while we were there.
The room was fine, had a full kitchen and the jet tubs in the bathroom were a treat. I was happy to find that in-room wireless internet service was available. It cost about the same as the internet cafe's in town. We never even looked at the hotels fitness center or pool area. We were gone most of the day, everyday of our stay.
It would be more convient to stay right in Rome, but this was a nice, affordable home base for us. If I were to visit Italy again, I would book hotel rooms in many different cities and only spend a night or two in each. The train system makes travel very easy throughout Italy.
