We stayed at this hotel for only two nights and my only complaint is that it is a little loud and we never seemed to have enough toilet paper in our room. First none of the taxi driver's we had seemed to know where the hotel is - so if you stay here make sure to put the hotel's address on a piece of paper so you can show the driver. The hotel is located in the Barberini section of the city and we were able to walk almost everywhere from the hotel, because the hotel was in the middle of everything. The hotel and rooms are small, but considering we were in Rome we were barely in the room, so that didn't bother us. The staff was nice and accommodating and were knowledgeable about the different tours of the city and once we decided what tour to take they made the arrangements (which was very convenient).

Dear Customer,
many thanks for letting your travel experience on Trip Advisor.
We are very pleased that the Stendhal met your expectations.
We just take a note, about the only complain reported, to remind our staff, once again, more attention to small details.
Warmest regards

Staff were welcoming and very helpful throughout my stay in May. THe hotel is in a great location with many sights within walking distance. Shops and restaurants nearby open late for evening strolls
We were booked for one room with 2 single beds but when we arrived it was not available. We were offered two single rooms at no extra cost! This worked out perfectly for the four nights we were there. The rooms are very very small. but clean and have a very well appointed bathroom. There was plenty of space for what I needed
the desk staff was just great with suggestions of local places to eat or visit
Breakfast was nothing fancy, but more than enough choices until you could enjoy some of the divine food in Rome. WOuld stay there again

My partner and I stayed here for three nights and I found it to be clean and comfortable, the rooms are a bit small but the bathroom is a nice size with a full bathtub. The hotel is centrally located close to the Spanish steps, the Trevi Fountain and Barberini metro station. The only downside is that we had no internet for the duration of our stay but the free breakfast and amazing cappuccino definitely made up for it. Will be staying here again for future visits.

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your review.
We are happy that everything went well, our services and our staff has met your good opinions.
We apologize for the wifi; for a small period the line was broken for all the Hotel.
An external technician repaired the fault line in only 4 days ( only for italian standard ).
For the clients: a disaster !
For us: a miracole !

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city centre , close to the sites, but also well positioned in respect of taxi ranks and metro station .
Generally speaking the rooms have all the basic amenities but are rather small and the shower is terribly restrictive ....to say the least. The breakfast room is also tight and consequently the tables themselves are limited . We saw no reason for not placing juices and cold milk at the buffet, which was generally mediocre when one considers this to be graded 4-star .
The staff is courteous ( especially the receptionists) and very helpful.
Otherwise a pleasant stay

Dear Guest,
many thanks for having left your opinion of the Stendhal.
The Stendhal Hotel is a boutique Hotel, we can not hide.
However I remember a description of the Stendhal in a review in Trip Advisor some time ago: SMALL HOTEL, A SMALL GEM.
The personal opinion counts, but, many time, does not matter the size but the quality.
I cannot promise to make the Stendhal big ! but improve and grow a great small boutique Hotel.
About the quality! The drinks are not on the buffet, but are directly served by our waitress.
We do not like to have on our buffet the self-service machines, because we like to serve cool and hot drinks at all times directly to your table.
Now! You know the Stendhal and we waiting for your next stay.

We spent 4 nights here in March, it was the perfect location and the rooms were comfortable, clean and large. I spent hours on TripAdvisor researching where we should stay and in which neighborhood, I definitely made the right choice! The hotel is located walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Barberini Metro stop. We also found some great restaurants near by the hotel.
The staff had great recommendations and they helped us find our way around the city to make sure we didn't miss any hot spots. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, a perfect way to start out the day before a long day of walking and sightseeing.
This was our first time in Rome and we could not have been happier with this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a high floor if you are on the street, it can be a bit noisy.

This was the second hotel we stayed in in Rome. We wish we would have stayed here the entire trip.
Rooms were large, quiet, and cozy.
Breakfast was very decent.
Location was great.
Price very reasonable.

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel. We would gladly stay here again.

Just spent a long weekend at the Stendhal Hotel, this was our 4th visit to the Eternal City and once again did not disappoint. The hotel was in a great location and staff extremely helpful. Their recommendations for dinner were much appreciated. We stopped in room 204, although the room was small it was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was sufficient to set you up for a long day in Rome. The Stendhal was ideally placed between the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps and the staff in the hotel marked everything of interest on a map, ensuring we knew where we were going. Prior to our trip we pre booked a queue jump ticket for the Vatican Museum which was great as the queue was an estimated 4 hour wait - would definitely recommend this. We would have no hesitation at returning to the Hotel Stendhal - everything you need in a city hotel, immaculate rooms, ideal location and extremely helpful friendly staff.

Room Tip: We stopped in room 204, small but clean. Beds very comfy
