We stayed for 5 days in June and loved every minute. The hotel is ideal for exploring Rome, with public transport very near, but you can walk to The Spanish Steps and The Trevi fountain and shopping areas with ease. Very helpful staff, rooms are small but spotlessly clean, good continental breakfast and loads of places to eat within 10 minutes walk. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Less noise higher up.

Great location (we walked from the train station and its close to a metro stop as well) with Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps a short walk away. Room was on the small side but not a hinderance to my husband, me and our 14 month old. Still plenty of room for us. Pay attention to room size when booking (we used booking.com which lists the size of each room in square meters). Clean and tidy and cot made for our son. Breakfast was adequate and included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and pastries. Breakfast area could get crowded but tables were cleared promptly so not an issue. Reception and all hotel staff we came in contact with were absolutely lovely! So helpful for making dinner reservations and giving directions and suggestions. Bed was comfortable. Nice water pressure and bathroom. We faced the back of the hotel (so away from the street) and enjoyed peace and quiet even with our window open a touch for fresh air. Lovely visit!

Room Tip: be sure to pay attention or ask about size of rooms. we had nice space but paid a bit more..well wo...

We visited Rome (My wife and I) for 4 nights 24/11-28/11 and enjoyed every minute of it.
We ordered a regular room and the hotel upgraded us free no charge to superior :-)
The Hotel is new, clean and very warm, the staff are always helpful and do it with a smile
There's free WiFi (You need to renew the free user/password) and we could Skype with our daughters, Breakfast is also nice.
Everything was ok, hot water, safe, TV, no noise from the street below.
The main thing is the location, we walked to all attractions, no need for a taxi or metro at all.
The room was clean each day and we feel we did the right choice.

We stayed at the Stendhal in My 2011. Location of the hotel is fantastic, close to the public transport and some great sights including Trevi fountain, Spanish steps. The breakfast provided a good variety of cereals and the pastries were lovely. Good sized bathrooms and even provided scales which isn't so good after eating your way around Italy ;) The bed was very comfortable. The room was a little on the small side however was perfectly adequate. Staff helpful and friendly.

I stayed at the Stendhal from October 31 - November 3, 2011. The location is fantastic. All of the major historical sites are within walking distance, and there are lots of places to eat and shop in the area. My room was (very) small but beautifully appointed and immaculate. Bathroom was good-sized and lovely, although the shower was very small and required some contortions to wash my hair. There was no noise in the room at all, as I was on the top (6th) floor and on the back side of the hotel. The staff is incredibly attentive and pleasant. The breakfast and bar area are just beautiful, and the food was perfect: eggs, meat, cheese, fruit, cereals, a delectable array of croissants, and perfect cappuccinos. I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel (away from the street) are very quiet.

The good news - great location, just off Piazza Barberini, very close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain and great shopping on Via Veneto. As well, the hotel is beautifully decorated and looks to be recently renovated. Beautiful breakfast/bar area and friendly, courteous staff.
The bad news - my room was gorgeous but miniscule. I know that a single room in Europe means small but this one was smaller than usual - to be able to move about the room, I had to park my suitcase in front of the door - upside, added security feature!
