The hotel is a canned package of service with no personalisation. The internet WIFI was not working but the staff had no alternative to offer for checking urgent emails. The air conditioning does not work during winters but opening the windows means a noisy street outside all night. How does one adjust temperatures if the room is too hot? Well take it or leave it.

Nice hotel located a couple of minutes walk from Piazza Bologna, Rome. Location wise it is reasonable, the Metro station in Piazza Bologna allows you access all areas covered by the system. Bus 62 originates in Piazza Bologna and winds it's way down into the old town not services by the Metro system and terminates at St Peter's Square, Vatican. This is great for Vatical visitors. The journey time is 25mins approx. The bus route passes close to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Wedding Cake, Plaza Narvone, Pathenon. The hotel is clean, staff reasonably friendly but not all have english.Rooms are a bit small for stays of over two days but clean, tidy , well decorated. BAR closes at midnight no matter what. Some nice restuarants , cafes and bars close by. Will go back again.

Room Tip: 117 room hotel, higher floors are better

This hotel is just a bit away from all the main sites and stuff, but the price that we got this for, made it a compelling stay (abt 75 EUR). The candies at the reception were a nice touch and the rooms were functional. But thats what you would expect from a Mercure.

We got down from our trip from Venice at Termini and took the metro to Bologna (its just 3-4 blocks from there). It was a sunday and although the receptionists were not particularly friendly, they did get the job done. Only problem was they told me that they will get point added to my Accor card but turns out they did not because it was a highly discounted price (should have told me).

The breakfast fare wasnt special, but well it was ok.

Overall, a nice place for a night especially if you are on budget.

Room Tip: Take higher floord and be ready for self service

The location of the hotel is fair, the room and the facilitates are nice. Staff are friendly but most of the staff I saw cannot speak any English, using hand gesture and a bit of Italian helps. After room keeping, the remote control was gone. Some part of the hotel room is quite old and worn out.

Usually I don't stay at 3* hotels, but i was positively surprise by this hotel. Service was friendly and efficient, they let me make a late check-out for free at 2pm. Room was clean and quiet. Bed is not top level, but well, for EUR 100 a night in Rome one can't complain. The hotel is next to the Bologna Piazza from which one has direct access to the metro B-line, which is 5 stations from the Coliseum. There are non expensive restaurants - tea rooms around the hotel.

Room Tip: on one side of the hotel there is a school. so if you plan to sleep longer, avoid it...
