Great guy in Enrico - great touches like maps and guides in the exit hallway for you to use at your leisure and lollies to take and the location was perfect - 5-10 minutes walk to the Vatican, 30 minutes to Colliseum and restauarants less than 5 minutes away. Bed was soft ( I hate hard beds) and room spacious. Couldn't fault our stay in any way and will use it again. Totally 100% wonderful place to stay in the heart of Rome.

Antiqua Roma is located in a very upscale part of the city. Enrico sent us details about which buses went from Termini train station to the hotel---a huge savings over taxicabs. And that knowledge helped us get around Rome economically during our entire stay. There's a coffee shop downstairs, where we had breakfast most mornings. And there are plenty of good restaurants nearby for dining in the evening. Our room was very spacious and clean. And the hosts welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Such nice people and great location are very hard to come by indeed. Thanks, Enrico, for an amazing visit to Rome!

Really enjoyed my stay, Rome was special and it was great to find somewhere as good as Antiqua Roma. Much better than staying in carbon copy corporate hotels. Nice room in a traditional apartment block, interesting decor, very friendly and helpful Owner, good location and a welcoming bottle of Chianti!

We stayed at Antiqua Roma for 8 nights and we don't have any complaints at all. We stayed in the room with private bathroom. We were given directions from the airport beforehand by Enrico, which was great service.

About the transfer:
The SIT SHUTTLE-bus drives once or twice an hour and takes around 45 min. from the airport to the hotel. Follow the signs from the exit of the terminal saying "Busstop" to find it. The bus only has 2 stops in Rome: Piazza Cavour/Via Crescenzio and Termini. Piazza Cavour is where you need to go. There is a guy selling tickets by the bus stop. We payed 6€ per person. You can save 1€ by booking online, but you lose flexibility, since you have to pick a timeframe for the transfer. It is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel.

About the hotel:
This is a B&B without breakfast. We were greeted with a free bottle of wine and candy in the room. It is a very cozy little place with only a couple rooms available. We felt very safe at the hotel and walking around the area. The room was very clean and soap and towels were provided. There is free wifi in the rooms. The signal was strong in our room and we had no problem getting online with our laptop and 2 smartphones. There is also a computer available in the main area as well as guidebooks and maps. Check-in is before 19:00 and check-out before 10:00 and you need to pay in cash. You get your own set of keys as you are on your own after 19:00. Enrico was kind enough to let us keep the keys after check-out to store our luggage until we were leaving for the airport, so we could enjoy our last day in Rome.

About the location:
The hotel is placed very centrally compared to typical attractions. We could walk to most of the places we were going, which was absolutely great. Just be aware that there is a fair walking distance of around 15 minutes to the nearest metro stop (Lepante) for the rare occasions where you need to go somewhere further away. The coffee shops and restaurants close fairly early in the neighborhood, so if you want to enjoy the nightlife you need to go to the other side of the river.

All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome.

We stayed four days at Antiqua Roma. Enrico the owner is extremely helpful, from directions from the airport, restaurants nearby, to restaurants for special occasions. The location is perfect, it is virtually situated equal distance from the Vatican, Ancient Rome, and the Spanish Steps.

Room Tip: I would e-mail Enrico directly.
