We visited Rome over 4 days earlier this fall. Given it was the last stop on a 2-week trip to Italy we worried that we would be too exhausted to enjoy it. The staff at Daphne sat down with us on arrival and each morning to suggest itineraries that helped us maximize our time and get the most enjoyment out of the city, complete with restaurant and gelateria suggestions for each area we were visiting. The rooms are great too--outfitted with comfortable beds with down linens. This was by far the best sleep we had in Italy for the price.

We've just come back from a week's stay in Rome at the Daphne Inn Trevi and can't praise it enough!

The Daphne Inn really is a sanctuary in a very busy, bustling and cosmopolitan city. Accommodation is on a par with with smart hotels (if not better) and the customer service is unparalleled - nothing is too much trouble!

On arrival, Sandra gave us an overview of Rome, complete with map, details for good walks and locations of the best ice-cream shops and restaurants. We were also given a mobile phone with the Daphne's numbers and numbers of staff pre-programmed, just in case we needed anything when we were out and about.

It was also my husband's birthday when we stayed at the Daphne and on learning this, they kindly gave us a bottle of Prosecco and some cakes to help us celebrate! Each day at breakfast, Sandra had a chat with us to see how the previous day had gone and to see whether we needed any help with our plans for that day. Restaurant, gallery, tour and transport reservations were all made by the Daphne and this ensured that we certainly made the best of our time in Rome.

All in all, the Daphne was a fantastic place to stay and made our stay in Rome a thoroughly enjoyable one. I'd certainly recommend the Daphne Inn (both locations) to anyone looking for high quality accommodation and first class customer service in Rome.

We'll definitely be going back to Rome in the future and we'll definitely be staying at the Daphne Inn for our next visit.

Daphne was the absolute perfect hotel for us on our visit to Rome. When we arrived in Rome, Daphne had helped arrange a cab for pickup. The staff then recommended an itinerary to help us get our feet wet in Rome. From there it just kept getting better. From the absolute best restaurant recommendations (ignore your tour book, go with Daphne staff recommendations) to the little extra distance they all went to in order to make our stay more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying at the Daphne for anyone visiting Rome. Use of cell phones and internet were also a nice touch.

I cannot recommend the Daphne Inn in Rome strongly enough!!! The accomodations were marvelous for our family of two parents and two teens--we had a large airconditioned two bedroom, two bathroom suite with internet access right outside our door. The location was fabulous--we walked to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and the Pantheon, the metro was a block away which took us to the Vatican in 5 minutes and the Colisseum was a good walk or quick taxi ride away. The continental breakfast was excellent and the decor lovely. And, unbelievably the price was right--very moderate by Rome standards. However, the best part of the experience was the unbelievably friendly, kind and accomodating couple--American Elyssa and Italian Alessandro who own the Daphne--and the helpful staff they hire. Everybody spoke good English. From the moment we arrived jet-lagged and tired we had a large taxi waiting for us at the airport. Each day someone from the hotel sat down with us with a map recommending walking routes; excellent, moderately priced non-touristy restaurants where we got good food and a chance to experience Rome's fun night life; the best gelatti, tortufa and caffe in the city; and a tour company with educated, humorous guides which greatly enhanced our experiences at the Colisseum/Forum and the Vatican. They did trouble-shooting for us when we needed an optician, etc. The only problem is that we can't take them with us on the rest of our journey! If we come back to Rome, there's no doubt where we'll stay!! Even my brother who lives in Milan and travels around Italy for his work said that we had found a great deal in a great location and was impressed that we had experienced the real vs the tourist Rome!!

We stayed here for three nights and it was a fantastic experience. Sandra met us when we arrived at the hotel and stayed any apprehension I had about being in Rome for 4 days, speaking absolutely no Italian. She gave us a map and helped us plan our itinerary for our trip, including places to stop for gelato all over the city. Breakfast was good and the room was very nice with real A/C. We would recommend the Daphne to anyone visiting Rome and if we ever go back, we'll be sure to stay there again.

For people who like lots of staff TLC and sparkling clean accomodations, the Daphni Inn is perfect. It's a little hard to find (a nondescript doorway in a narrow side street), but the service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, unfailingly helpful, and full of helpful information about attractions in the city. We stayed only one night; wished we had more time.

The truth has already been told. The Daphne is quite honestly the best. I have stayed in Rome before, but I can honestly say that you WILL NOT find better service and attentiveness anywhere else on your trip. As stated in other reviews, they go out of your way to give you advice on restaurants and tours, cell phone use and simple conversation. Elyssa is a native to the States...that really helped. She speaks fluent Italian, but the fact that she speaks english really helps in a city that does not. Another great thing...PLEASE TAKE NOTE: if you need laundry done on your stay, they are more than welcome to take it and have it cleaned at a nominal charge. These are the things that make you feel relaxed on vacation. Every restaurant they recommended was A+......they are not their recommendations...they are recommendations that YOU ask for, what YOU are craving. Just awesome. Trust me and the others who felt compelled enough to praise something so great!P.S. Don't forget to have at LEAST one piece of pizza from the pizzaria just outside their doors....the best we had in town:)
