5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here in early June - there were a few hiccups w/ our booking so we had to change to a new room every day the 4 night we were staying but the friendly and accommodating staff definitely made up for it. Thanks CJ And Carlos for making our time in Rome that much more enjoyable!

Check-in staff were friendly and offered you a free map of the city. The hostel itself is a 3 minute walk from Termani train station - the area is a bit rough with a lot of homeless people. My 8-person dorm room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The facilities in the bathroom were fine, there was a hairdryer you could use, and the shower was always hot. Rooms have air-con. The wifi is available throughout the hostel and also in your bedrooms. There is no laundry room but staff at the desk will locate the nearest one for you.

There is a roof-top terrace and a bar where you can meet other travellers. The hostel arranges 3 'pub crawl' nights out per week - these are quite pricey at 20eur (and they take you to VERY expensive bars) but are a lot of fun. You can also book excursions and walking tours from the front desk for good prices. I booked a 39eur 4 hour tour of the Vatican City which was fantastic.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have less noise from the ground-floor bar.

I stayed for 3 nights an 8 bed dorm. The room was a good size and was equipped with a bathroom and air-con. A slight downside is that the lockers were tiny, only fitting a very small bag. There were also no plug sockets next to the beds which was unusual. The of the best things about the hostel for me was the roof terrace, this was a great way to spend early evening. The hostel also has lively bar which is ideal for meeting people. The WiFi was good working everywhere even the roof!

The location of the hostel is good, 5 minutes walk from termini station and a short walk to the Colosseum. The staff are pretty good, helpful and have a laugh with guests while running the bar.

I think that the hostel is good value for money considering that Rome is very expensive city. The hostel has everything required for a good stay.

My stay at Alessandro was great..arrived midnight and it was just a 5min walk from Termini. The guys at the reception were always welcoming and helpful to all my requests. one of the best hostels i've been. Stayed in the quad female room and it's really spacious, clean and beds and pillows were comfy. The attached loo is clean too and they clean the room everyday. No lockout period which is good. The bar downstairs were also not a nuisance as your room will be upstairs. Only thing i would comment is their aircond wasn't really working at times, had to reboot few times and it made loud sounds...summer in Rome is really really hot and u need the a/c when u come back from a day outside! There is also this delicious restaurant just next to the hostel and so convenient to just have pastas there every night..and it's really really good! All in all it was a great 5nights stay and i would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: quad room is good

Stayed in this Hostel from 13/06 to 18/06/2013. Very close to termini station, which is around 10 minutes with luggage.

Do not arrive early as they do not give you the rooms until it is past the official Check In - 3 pm.
Luckily I arrived at 2.35 pm so just waited till 3.10 to get the room.....Check out is way too early as the maid who come to change the bedding doesn't come till 2 pm. MayB to cut costs they have just minimal cleaning staff.I was served by CJ who is bubbly and was checked in to the next door apartment by Carlos, who was a BIT moody.

The room is ok, as I stepped in to an empty room. The bed linen was ok, as they add a pillow case and bed spread with a new check in. But do not use the original pillow cover and the quilt as I saw how the made changed it when I was in the room. After a guest leaves instead of taking the whole lot to laundry the Hotel maid just turns the pillow around shake for dust, No change in the Bed spread just arranges it and then to my astonishment just lays the same quilt over. So this was done once in 5 days and the bed she changed had 3 ppl moving in and out within those 5 dyas. Hence I thought this was very unhygienic.

Over the 5 days I stayed, all the 8 beds were fully occupied but the wash room was cleaned only twice. Toilet paper was out for one whole day,

The AC worked perfectly. TV was there with no remote. The wash room was a mess. New fittings. But no basics such as a bath mat, soap holder(Forget abt the soap). towel holder were provided. Hence the EUR 30 spent on this property was way too much.

The common areas had no AC as the hostel was trying their best to minimize the Bills.

Do not sign in to any of the tours the reception offers, or the breaky, or the air port transport. If you have a requirement go thru the net and find it by ur self.....For an example when it came to Roma Termini to FCO bus, I just asked CJ for the frequency and after promptly answering he tried to promote sum bus at Eur 6, where I clearly knew that if you bought the same from the Company it was just Eur 4. So even by small things like this the Hotel was trying to rip you off. Eg: their bus price was 50% more than open mkt price.

Around the corner of the apartment there is a supermarket named Sigma, filled with moody staff and ok product range. It is a discount shop but prices are high.

The staff of the super mkt is as if they were paying for our goods. The eating places around the hostel are a disgrace to the world famous Italian cuisine. The average pizzas served just top the poor food list. I mean how can you have a Pizza Marguerite without Basil, but these ppl do it.

Anyway, the best places to eat would be at the Termini station or down town.

Lastly, the hostel is ok. But you do not get Eur 30 per night you pay for in return.....And do your research and you could find a better place at a cheaper rate near the Termini station.....

Room Tip: Rooms are unhygienic as the bedding is changed in a very strange way. Wash rooms need cleaned at lea...

We stayed for 4 nights (2 in a private room, 2 in a four person dorm) both rooms and bathrooms where clean with plenty of space. They staff was friendly for the most part, a few of the morning staff seemed to not really want to be there -but I can't blame them because I'm not much of a morning person either. Great location near the train station and easy to find. The bar was a bit pricey but you can bring in your own drinks before 9. Overall, I would stay here again. It was a decent hostel experience.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in a private room. Great location (close to Termini Station), friendly and helpful staff..breakfast not so good. I would recommend going over the road to the cafe or something similar. Room was clean and tidy. (please note: 2 single beds in private room, not a double bed).
