I've found this place literally a stone throw away from the Vatican City and I absolutely loved it! such a nice change from the usual, almost sterile hotel chain environment. the colours of the rooms are refreshing and adds such a nice vibe to the hotel.
I particularly liked the food in the morning, the service was top notch with really friendly waiters to see to my comfort.
Strongly recommended.

We spend in the Coloros Hotel three sleepless nights. There was a group of German kids on our floor that made our stay a night mare. To my surprise the teacher was on the same floor. We did try to talk to her and to the hotel staff but there was no improvement. The staff member even suggested that we should try to sort the situation out ourselves. I’m not sure what he meant by that.
The hotel itself is nice but we were just were unlucky.

I stayed at hotel with my mom, and I was a bit worried would the hotel be good enough for my mom. But I was so positively suprised about the rooms, location, service and breakfast was the best of all! Only bad thing was that there wasn't elevator, but I assume that's normal in Rome. Room was clean and really comfortable. Staff was really nice and helpfull and eventhough we had some missunderstanding with our payment, they were really professional and friendly with it. Location was really good, just a few steps from Vatican and ten to fiftheen minute walk to "centrum" where are most of the sights.

We got in early to Rome as we came from Paris and we got a transfer to the hotel. When we arrived we got greeted by a rude woman who said the room won't be ready until 12:30pm so we went out and left our bags there. We came back at 12:30 and the room wasn't ready so we continued to wait. They were really pushy about wanting the money before anything! When the room was ready the woman then came out and started arguing about the check in time which was not on the email we got sent. She continued to argue for 5 or so minutes until we got into the room. The room was a triple room with an attached bathroom. The toilet was leaking water all over the floor, the shower was too small to stand in, and no fan. Beds were very hard like concrete. The wifi is terrible! Kept cutting out every few minutes to not connect for another 5. We went out one night and you have to be buzzed into the building, they didn't answer the buzz for 5-10 minutes standing out in the cold rain, and when we got in the new woman at the counter hounded us for what room we were in. Never in my life at a hotel have I been hounded as I walked in the door for what room we were in. Never again will I stay in this hotel with the worst customer service EVER!!

We are very sorry to hear that your experience with us hasn't been nice. First of all we should apologize about the lack of hospitality as this is very important for us and trust us, it's not usual. The check in time is at 2.00 pm, but usually we make our guests wait for a while if the room is to be ready in a few minutes, or we just tell them to leave the luggage and return back around the check in time (2.00 pm). It's strange if you were told differently, there must have been a misunderstanding. Also being pushy about the payment isn't the way we work.
As for the problems encountered with the toilet we try to change the room when technical problems like that occur, as in a hotel unfortunately it happens that things get broken. The mattresses are brand new, that's why you found them hard. As for the wi fi, this is a service that we offer for free to all the guests and it actually works pretty well, but sometimes it occurs that many people use it at the same time and it slows down, but this could happen anywhere.
The point is that overall we are terribly sorry to hear that the customer service wasn't as good for you. Our intention is to make make people feel home for the days they stay with us and having failed this time will certainly push us to understand what the problem was.
We hope you will consider the cozy atmosphere of the hotel, the breakfast that we offer to everyone, the central position and the fact that we are sure, should you return your experience will be only pleasant.

Our first night here was greeted with slate check in at 2pm because were told the room wasn't available.the girl at the reception then added if we've heard 'the story' of our room.very vague no details,when we said no she didn't provide further details. My husband and I went out to see the city and when we came back we were horrified to find that they checked us into an 'emergency room' !! They told us our room booking got screwed up sumhow,even though we booked an economy double room with an attached bathroom we got an extremely tiny tiny room with a sink n shower in the corner n no toilet! We had to use the toilet in the corridoor! the worst thing was the matter was not looked into properly, we asked for a refund n they said it wasn't possible but they could try.then the next day a different girl was at the reception n wasn't even informed of the situation! There was no follow up! The service is lousy! The rooms on the first floor is horribly noisy and the air con was not working n we couldn't sleep with all the noise . All in all it wasa very bad expirience and I really wouldn't recommended this hotel to anyone.

We thank you for writing but we also care to answer.First of all just would like to specify that check in time is at 2.00 pm. We are sorry to hear that there has been a problem with your reservation and most of all we are sorry to hear about the lack of communication once you got at the reception. Usually we guarantee to the guests the type of room that they have booked even if there is a problem, we do this by reserving for them the same typology of room in a nearby hotel. Probably something went wrong and it wasn't handled properly, but we assure you that this isn't the way we deal with these type of problems. Just to let you know, because we understand that this isn't the main point of the problem, but the air conditioning is switched on in the whole building only starting from May and you stayed here in April.
Hopefully you will give us a second chance as we know that all we read will not be repeated again.
Your critics are hints for us to improve our service.

colors hotel is a nice place to stay for an affordable price. the service is friendly, rooms are ok (keep in mind not every room has private bathroom, our room had).
the breakfast is OK, the only negative I can say is that walls and doors are so narrow, so you can hear everithing outside your room happens, try to book a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor

Clean, bright and comfortable,good value with very helpful staff, Our triple room was lovely and warm .Would definitely stay at Hotel Colors again.Close to the Vatican only ten minutes walk and if you need a taxi, reception will oblige it's outside in three minutes. The breakfast room was small and very busy but you can get a seat quite quickly.
