September 2012- Bottom line..Great price, great location, friendly and courteous staff, and secure.
We chose this hotel because it is about a block from the Train station, excellent price for the area, and within walking distance to all the major attractions. We arrived to the hotel around 9:30 am and even though they didn't have rooms available for an early check-in, they secured our bags, gave us a map, and directions to the sights. We visited the Coliseum, Arch of Constantine, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps, plus a bunch of other beautiful Piazza's. Had a late lunch and arrived back to the hotel around 2:30 pm and our rooms were ready. The Hotel, like almost every building in Rome is old so don't expect pristine conditions but the rooms are clean and serviceable. Free Wi-Fi is also provided. In the evening, all you have to do is walk outside and you have your choice of eating establishments with a great atmosphere. The next day we ate breakfast at a great coffee shop right up the street and then walked over to the Train station (Termini) and took bus 64 to the Vatican and spent the day visiting the sights. The next morning we got up and walked to the Termini and took the train to Florence. We would definitely stay here again.

In order to go to Capri I needed a 2 day stay in Rome. Destiny brought me to "Sweet Home Hotel" at Via Principe di Amedeo. The first thing to say is about its convenient location, which is just a couple blocks from the main train station Termini. Second, as soon as they saw me arriving with 2 big bags, they made everything possible to make my life easier. Help was always there and everyone at the Front Desk was always very very nice. I would definetely go back!.

Our trip to Rome consisted of my wife, son and mother. We stayed here in a room that could accommodate 5 (Red room pictured). Comfortable, clean, air conditioned and very near the Termini for access to trains, metro and buses. Free WiFi as well for morning and evening planning to avoid data charges was also a huge bonus (as well as giving our son the ability to play his favorite online game at the end of a long day of walking).
There are also numerous restaurants in the area, as well as a small grocery to stock up on bottled water and energy food for your trips. It's no 5-star, but it is an outstanding, convenient place to rest your weary self after the long hours touring Rome's many sites. After all, you are so tired at the end of each day that it hardly matters where you lay your head. See some of my other reviews for nearby restaurant gems and 'escapes for mom and dad'.

Room Tip: Red room if you need plenty of space.

Looking for a place to stay that has good security, is clean and quiet and just down the street from capuccinos and restaurants--this is it. We stayed in the red room--Grandma, Son, daughter-in-law and 9 yr old grandson. It's not hoity-toity, but it definitely fits the bill! Reasonable, too!

Great experience!

Room Tip: The red room was quiet and clean in a corner, with two large queen beds and one single. Works well...

The reception staff who works permanent night shift is helpful. Other than this staff and the close proximity to Roma Termini train station, I don't have much good things to say about this hotel. For Muslims, you can find halal food easily in this area.

Family and I had reservation in July. After a long day of rental car/train travel, front desk advised us that our room was unavailable "because the prior guests refused to leave." They had found us a room across the street (and up 5 flights) at a sister hotel. The other accomodations were okay, but it just didn't feel right to my wife or I.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip to Rome in May 2012. The location was perfect as it was close to Roma termini station. We were welcomed by Bruno who was very friendly and helpful. He also helped us come up with a plan to visit some of the important touristic attractions as we had only 2.5 days to see Rome including trip to Vatican. The rooms were very clean and spacious. WIFI is available in the room. Coffee/tea making facilities could have been provided. There is no restaurant in this hotel but there are plenty of ones around the hotel and you can have a decent breakfast at a reasonable price in some of the coffee shops at Termini station. All in all,a great hotel with excellent location and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
