“3 visit, happy again!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

This was my third stay at Hotel Madison and again I was happy with my stay. The location is perfect for central Rome and again I found a clean and comfortable room awaiting me. I stayed for 2 nights this time and as before I would still recommend Madison as a good priced central option for Rome.

Pro: After a 5-nights-stay, I can tell a decent hotel. Breakfast great, and although it's from 7-10 am, they are refilling even after 10, if there are people there. Location - great!
Contra: doesn't have WiFi, if you want to buy it - high price. I asked the receptionist to check some flight details on his PC there, he said they don't have the internet. I just wonder how's that possible today in this world??? Either he lied, or they are out of date.

We went to there with tour group and we stayed there for 3 nights. Completely during in our stay there is no kind staff, no one speak any english, no one not trying to help us. Rooms are so small
and towels really old. No lobby and restaurant and breakfast awful. They serve just bread, croissant, butter and jam. Cups and spoons were very dirty. It has only one things good for travelers which is only a minute to the bus termini.

This hotel has people not fun working there.
The tax extra, pay because have a law, is illegally no have a receipt. In other words, you pay, but the hotel can don't pay.
The hotel is older and not well mantened.

Reading a few of the bad reviews on here I feel it is a little unfair. If you book this hotel, you are not booking some 5* accomodation so shouldn't be expecting such!
I travelled with a friend for a long weekend in Rome and the hotel was perfect for a sight-seeing-filled holiday. The hotel staff were quite friendly and check-in was no hassel. The room, whilst a little dark due to the renovations on the front of the building, was clean and more than big enough for 2 people. Bathroom was always clean upon returning, and the breakfast in the mornings was fantastic with so much variety - really was something for everyone.
The hotel is within very easy walking distance of many sights such as the Coloseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi ... and if you prefer walking like myself and my friend did, even the Vatican isn't too much of a walk away.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you stay here you will be pleased, with the choice, its basic ,rooms are small ,very little space between bed and walls, bathroom is nice and beds are comfy, there is a free safe too,and complimentary bottles of water each day,we had no fridge, there are coffee and snack vending machines on each floor at the lifts which only take 5 people by the way,the buffet breakfast is continental, scrambled eggs, ham, cheeses, breads, pastries, fruit, cereal, etc no sign of a sausage or rasher here,it was plentiful though, there is no bar and a very small lobby, the tv in the room has only italian channels and has huge soundproof windows as the street noise can be very loud, you will be woken by church bells at 7am every morning but hey, its Rome, city of churches, the staff are friendly and spoke good english, the hotel is great for travel to and from airports as the bus stops right outside for both of them but beware the terravision bus has huge line ups and you have to be sure you have the right boarding pass to get on ,dont get on the wrong bus,its a bit of a nightmare, there are plenty of resataurants outside so you dont have to go far for food and the hop on hop off bus stops just up the street 100 mtrs,so dont moan about this hotel and just enjoy the sights!

Room Tip: Get a 6th floor room to be away from street noise and at the back of hotel, better view!
