“A must do or see when in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

A one hour so well spent. Had read about this marvelous museum in a novel and the display that might defy description; However, the respect and appreciation for the human body (mortal remains) of this monastic order teaches a great lesson and delivers a unique and lasting experience.

“Not for the squimish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

If you don't want to see the remains of the Capuchin Monks (tens of thousands of bones of their
dead and those they served artistically arranged in small theater style viewing chapels) or are
freaked out by bones don't go. We thought it was AMAZAING. Worth the small admission fee, but no pictures so buy a postcard at the end of the short visit to prove you saw what you did. Creepy but very cool and full of untold history of these monks. I'd think if you had teenage boys with you or historians this is a must stop.

“Worth Visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

During the planning of our trip were advised to be sure to include a visit to the Cappuchin Crypt. It was well worth the visit. Dress code is enforced as is no photography. Be sure to take your time reading the history of the Cappuchin Friars and don't rush in order to have the full experience.

“Different and thought provoking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

Was recommended to visit by friend at home. Well worth the time and effort - check times before going. Art 1st class and the crypts provide thought provoking moments, lucky to be following a guide who explained all. Definitely need guide book for explanation.

“Creepy Cappuchin Crypt a Must See!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

We were in Rome with 2 teenagers, and were told of the Crypt by another family. The kids really enjoyed it. Bones are displayed into all different scenes. It is right across from the Hotel Majestic in a very central location. I definitely recommend. They are very strict on dress code though. You must wear pants and have shoulders covered...
