I stay here often when visiting family. The rooms are impeccable. Clean and brand new. The staff is super friendly and of course passionate. It's Italy right?

Don't speak Italian? No problem. David the "cabo" speaks the queens English while Mike, who runs the kitchen, speaks perfect New York. Ask for one of these guys of you don't understand.

Is it the ritz? No. Is it a perfect place to catch a tram and see Rome on a budget? Yes!

Tell them Dave the 'merigan sent you.

I had a very enjoyable stay here in San Lorenzo. It is a lively area with lots of young people. There is a supermarket on the nearest corner, many wine bars and pizzerias and even a macrobiotic restaurant and store close by. It is a no frills place but the price reflects that, the staff are lovely and they also serve an evening meal if you would like it. Tell chef Mike that Sonnie sent you!

Stayed in the single room w shared bath. Room and bath were clean and the building in general is very quiet. It was 20min walk from Termini. Personally, I found it difficult to meet other travelers because there was no common area to hand out. Otherwise, it was a good place to stay if you are just looking for a clean bed and quietness.

We depart tomorrow, 26 Sept 2013, and would recommends this hotel. We stayed 3 nights, it is basic, but when one is travelling all you need is a clean safe place to sleep, and this definitely covers these areas.

Breakfast is supplied and is very satisfactory, ie cereal, toast, fresh fruit tea and coffee, and a few extras :). Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, however not much English is spoken, we never found it to be an issue even tho we speak no Italian. The laundry service was great and cheap too.

Not close to the main termini but the walk or bus ride is interesting in itself :)

This is a place that just wants to please its guests and to make them comfortable.

Well done Ivan and your team, your doing a great job.

I stayed for almost 2 weeks at the Foresteria Roma. Located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, it is just 3 blocks from via Tiburtina, where you can catch bus 71 that takes you to the Tiburtina Metro/Train station, or downtown on the other direction (bus stops at Largo Chigi, just off via del Corso, 2 blocks from the Fontana de Trevi). A supermarket is just around the corner and there are many trattorias around. San Lorenzo is very lively at night.
Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable; breakfast is good. The Foresteria even offers a laundry service for a more than reasonable price. Staff is helpful and polite.
For the price, this hotel is excellent.

Myself and a friend (22year old women) stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in June,it's a 20-25minute walk from the termini, there's a small hill on the walk, you certainly need to be fit because the heat (40C) and the walk don't mix well. The staff were always helpful when we needed them, the breakfast is simple but you're not paying for a la carte, 2 different cereals, fruit, toast, juice etc. The rooms were clean and comfortable, we stayed in a single room with extra bed and en suite, we paid €30 a night each, the room was made daily, sheets weren't changed but we weren't bothered, they provide towels. We did come across a small problem, make sure you take two plug adapters because one of ours didn't fit which was supplied with my travel hair dryer.
Another plus was the fact that the reception was open all day, I think we came back from a local bar at about 12am and we just had to buzz to get in.
The security of the hotel made my friend and I feel safe because you get two keys one for your room and another for the room to the corridor, there are about 10 rooms down one corridor. There's also a small kitchenette, you can't cook anything but there's a fridge/freezer which we used to cool our drinks down overnight.

We didn't use the metro or trains and found the buses easier to work out, there's a small information area out of the termini, we took a photograph of the bus numbers and where they went and used that to plan our journeys.

There are also plenty of great bars and restaurants around the hotel and a little market.

Overall this hotel is a great and cheap stay. The only minor thing we would've liked would've been a fan or air conditioning in the room, we didn't ask so we can't really complain and dont know if they do supply them, by the end of the day we just wanted to sleep, we managed with the windows open. If we return to rome we will more than likely stay here again.

The hotel had an incredibly helpful staff, and a great location (right next to the #3 tram and 20 minutes from termini walking). The wifi was very fast as well. Although the room was small, it was clean and efficient. For the price, it was a great stay. It was surrounded by local shops, and restaurants, with a true italian feel. Would recommend for people who dont mind walking, and would like to see the "real" Rome.
