This is a small hotel and very cosy and familiar. The staff are so nice, warm, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are good and clean, size OK, electric kettle and tea. Very small TV. Nice bathroom. Breakfast OK but could be better.
Quite a lot of traffic noise from the street.
Location fantastic for walks to all the turist sights, restaurants, shops, parks and museums. Close to Central train station too. So also easy to get around by bus, tram or metro if you like.

I would really recommend this hotel to all kinds of travellers.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from the street if you want less noise.

The location was very good, within walking distance from all the major attractions and Termini Station. There are several restaurants close by, the ones we visited served good food (try via Urbana). Good value for the price.
The hotel itself is located in an old building with an old-fashioned elevator, but can feel a bit outdated and there was a slight damp smell. Staff is nice and the service is good. The room - good size, clean sheets, warm at night. Several electrical outlets. Bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was very basic and we preferred to get ours outside.

Excellent location close to Santa Maria Maggiore. About a 15 minute walk from Roma Termini train station. The area a block or two around the train station is a bit dodgy, but the hotel location was very safe. It is about 15 minute walk to many main attractions, so we found the location ideal. The hotel has an antiquated elevator, so be prepared to take the stairs. Our room was very close to the reception desk, which was my only complaint. There was a lot of noise in the mornings as people were checking in/out, so I would ask for a different room in the future. They do rent to families, so be prepared for the noise of children. The breakfast room is quaint and the food choices consist of very good pastries and croissants, cereals, and juices. The reception stafff is overly friendly and very helpful. Be prepared to pay city tax in cash when you check out. After we checked out, they offered to watch our bags for a few hours so we could continue to walk around Rome. I felt very comfortable doing so and nothing was missing from our bags. I would have expected the price to be more expensive than it was, making this a great value!

Room Tip: Rooms close to the reservation desk can be noisy! Get a room farther down the hall.

Our stay in this hotel was great. The location is perfect: very close to the train station Termini (but the area is very safe), to the Colosseum, and it take 15 minutes to get to the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps.
The staff is very friendly and the breakfasts are very nice. The rooms were cosy and very clean, and soundproof, so we didn't have any trouble sleeping, although there was a market just outside our windows, and the bathroom was wonderful.

We arrived at Hotel Giuliana after a tiring and disappointing stay at an upmarket well known establishment where we were treated with a lack of respect and compassion. We found both of these qualities at the hotel Giuliana in Rome. It is a small family run hotel where the owners Mariana and Tony along with their assistants ensure their guests are well looked after. They help out with any queries and give suggestions about what places to see in Rome, where to have dinner and where to shop for money value. The hotel was well placed as we did not have to rely on Taxis to get around. The area was very safe as we did not encounter any issues. In fact we liked the authenticity of the area. The shops and restaurants near the hotel were places frequented by the locals.
Overall the Hotel Giuliana for those who want to stay in an authentic Italian building with a lift from the 1920's, that has been renovated for everyday comfort after a long day out should not look past the Hotel Giuliana and their young hosts. We will be going there again.

Room Tip: The hotel has a variety of rooms, ask for the more spacious rooms if you have a problem with small c...

This 2-star hotel is a 19th century building (1st floor with elevator) situated in the Stazione Termini (10 minutes) area, very close to Viminale and Santa Maria Maggiore. Via Nazionale is only 3 minutes away.
Price is reasonable for the season. I paid only 42 euros for a single room (double bed), breakfast included. This is Italy, so don't expect breakfast to be anything exceptional. But there is a buffet and the cappuccino is Ok.
The staff is very welcoming and professional.
Only drawback: The hotel closes at 2 am. What a strange idea, isn't it? Anyway, if you really want to come back later, you need to inform the hotel staff.

Room Tip: Avoid choosing the room on the street (Via De Pretis, as it can be noisy at night, in spite of the d...
