“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed November 11, 2011

At first we were startled to find we had to take an elevator up to the hotel but once we arrived and met the owners we immediately fell in love with the whole idea of using the old european style elevator and being catered to by this friendly, caring family. This hotel is in a wonderful location for both the trains and the buses, also the hop on hop off bus which is so convenient i n Europe. There is a wonderful restaurant right around the corner called Rst Flli de Lucaroma and several cafe's to have a light lu nch or coffee. We highly recommend this Hotel which is moderately priced.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the main street but we had no trouble sleeping, we also had air conditioning whi...

We have for 7 -8 years stayed at the Giuliana hotel in Rome, a family run business. It is ideally located in the centre of Rome. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, you wouldn't get any better service in a larger hotel. The rooms are clean & comfortable, with double glazing throughout to minimize the noise of the busy city centre. The hotel is very near the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Termini. We all would not think of going anywhere else. Thanks to all the staff of the Giuliana Hotel for their warm welcome every year we visit them.

As most other folks have pointed out, this hotel has a great location - a bit further from the train station than some of the 4-star hotels in Rome, but closer to the major sights in the city (which means no need for the bus in most cases)! And by "further" from the train station, I mean only a 7 - 10 minute walk...perfect for when you're catching a train to Florence for the day (why change hotels/cities when the train station is so close and there's an express service that gets you between the two cities in about 90 minutes)?!
Rooms are clean, breakfast is sufficient, and staff was very helpful. Overall a great bargain in a terrific city!

This is a small family hotel. You will not miss the entrance, it is a large wooden door.
The rooms were clean and the bathrooms recently renovated. Although the closet door had to be fix, but we didn't have any major problem.
The location of the hotel is very good, near the city center and most of the monuments.
We preferred to move around on foot, so it's location was ideal. There is a small pizza store almost opposite the hotel with good prices. Around the corner there are also small cafeterias and restaurants with average prices.
The hotels has basic amenities and the breakfast is limited to fresh croissants, bread and coffee.
Recommended for 3-4 day excursions in Rome.

Cute hotel, very conveniently located and you won't find a friendlier or more helpful staff. We were able to walk to everything even the Vatican (but we like to walk). The rooms are very clean and adequate. There is a market in the mornings so if your room has a street view I recommend wearing ear plugs. We did this and slept fine. If you don't have ear plugs the market starts setting up around 5am and can be quite noisy. Free wi-fi was a plus. There is an Internet cafe close by if you don't have a computer.

First of all, Jean was a very gracious host and really made us feel welcome in Rome. She suggested a restaurant right around the corner, and later we saw her there - so you know it was good! This hotel is pretty close to the train station, and not too far of a walk from the Colliseum/Forum (maybe 15-20 minutes???). There's a small, old elevator for bringing your bags up. The room was pretty large by Europe standards, as was the bathroom. The only real drawback was that our window opened up to a patio where people ate breakfast - oh and you have to pay extra for air conditioning, which my parents tried in their room, but they couldn't get it working.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask NOT to have the room right behind the check-in desk, which has a window that opens...

In expensive Rome, Hotel Giuliana is a wonderful surprise. It is centrally located so that you can walk everywhere in the old city. It is clean and, for Rome, quiet. The rooms are pleasantly fursnihed and decorated, the breakfasts are good, and the staff could not be more helpful. All this comes at an affordable price.
