We have just spent four nights here and we really enjoyed it. The staff are so helpful and are always available to answer any queries. As documented previously the rooms are small - but very clean and to be honest how much time do you spend in the room on a City Break - we just slept and showered. The bar is very popular as they have a 4 hour (Happy Hour) where most of the drinks are half price - we tended to have a couple of drinks before we went out to eat at night - Rome is a definite daytime city as this is the time when everyone is seeing the sights -night time tends to be a drink and a meal then quite early to bed for the next round of jaw dropping sights.

Breakfast time offered plenty of choice hot and cold food, but the regular coffee in the urn is pretty gross - so order a cappuccino which is very good- there is a choice of Twinings Teas and the usual juices and even prosecco if you feel so inclined.

There are a few shops, banks, bars and restaurants within a couple of blocks - Villa Borghese is definitely worth a visit about a 10 min walk through the Piazza de Popolo. Through the Piazza there are the main shops and countless restaurants.

The Metro is a couple of blocks around a 3 min walk from the hotel and we used it every day - we bought a 3 day ticket and we definitely made money on it. If you don't want to use the Metro you are able to walk to some of the sights - The Spanish Steps and the Trevi will take you 15 - 20 mins but it is a nice stroll - just beware of the flower sellers they are VERY persistent.

We were more than happy with our stay at the River Palace Hotel and would recommend it.

We just stayed there for two nights. We were very impressed from the beginnig. The employees are very nice and helpful. The two elevators up to the 6th floor was a bit annoying, but we got used to it.

The breakfast is great-lots of selections.

The rooms were clean. They will leave you a card at the end of the night to let you know what the weather is like. Rooms are small. Very hard to have two suitcases open in there.

We heard no outside noise. The radiator (ac?) made some weird noises at night. We were so tired after walking in Rome all day, we hardly noticed it and fell right asleep!

The bathrooms are clean as well. Really great hot water.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are within walking distance of trevi fountain, shopping, the spanish steps and campo di fioro. If you want to go elsewhere, you are two mins walking distance from the metro (very user friendly).

During our stay in Rome we experienced kindness, warmth and helpfullness from the staff of the River Palace Hotel. They tried everything to to make our stay a pleasant one.The rather small room and small bathroom were clean and the bed was extremely good. The only disadvantage was the lack of a restaurant. However, the bar and especially the barkeepers were wonderful.
In general,we certainly can and will recommand this hotel for a stay in one of the most beautiful cities we ever saw.

We have just had a really enjoyable holiday in Rome based at the River Palace Hotel From the moment we arrived all the staff from porter to manager did everything they could to assist and inform us about the hotel the locality and the attractions of Rome. Our room was neat, not large but adequate, had a fully marble finished bathroom, air conditioning and was well cleaned each day with a turn down service. Breakfast was a real treat with a full range of continental pastries and hot/cold meats etc. even wine! The four hour happy happy hour with all drinks at half price was great with cocktail shaken in front of you and sandwiches, crisps on the bar. we would return to the River Palace Hotel in a heartbeat
The hotel location is close to Flaminio metro station which makes travel to any part of the city easy. in fact you will probably walk to most places anyway as even the Vatican is only 20 minutes away. A taxi from the airport will cost50 Euro and a bus to Termini central station 6 Euro then 1.5 Euro metro fare to Flaminio. The choice is yours

Arrived in Rome very tired. We had arranged for the hotel to send a private car to pick us up at the airport. After retrieving our luggage we walked out the door to find Alessandro waiting for us. I can't tell you how great he was. Took us on a short tour of Rome before heading to the hotel. We even made a stop at Aventine Hill. His enthusiasm and passion for his city revived us and got us very excited to be in Rome. It was a great start to our Roman Holiday. The River Palace is in a good location with easy access to transportation. The rooms are small but very nice and clean. Management even had a small bottle of white wine in our room for our Anniversary.
