“Lovely hotel, interesting bathroom”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Firstly the location of the hotel is awesome. Two minutes walk to the colosseum, Piazza Venezia, two train stations and the tourist buses. There is also a laundromat within walking distance if you don't want to get the hotel to do your laundry, which can be expensive.

My room was a little small but adequate. Be prepared for a firm bed. And the AC works overly well. The bathroom was quite odd. Plenty of room for a toilet and a boudai, but quite possibly the smallest shower I have ever seen. I am a big girl so I accept that space is an issue, but this was standing room only. Aside from the shower everything worked fine. Hot water, clean towels and a good selection of toiletries. The hair dryer is not very good, especially if you have thick hair. The walls are a little thin and you can hear other patrons moving around, but the noise is not intrusive. Fortunately the other guests were very quiet when I was there

The staff, especially Rosa, were very helpful, and ever so patient with my questions and requests. Be warned the Wifi is a little dodgy. It goes in and out a bit and can be very slow. But once again it does work. Staff are more than happy to print out any documents you may need in paper form.

Breakfasts are very simple but adequate. Good selection of cereal, bread and fruit to get you started on the day .

for the good things for the hotel:
* Amazing Location , Beside the Colosseum , 2 mins walk , and 2 min walk to the metro station , 5 mins to the bus station . so everything is just there !
Its very silent are without the extreme noise from the city .
* For the Hotel itself , very nice staff , very cooperative , etc
* Restaurant was not that impressive , very simplistic basic breakfast which was pretty satisfying as value for the money [yogurts , cheese , bread , juice , some dessert pie ] . I just wished they should add any kind of vegetables with the food (tomatoes , lettuce , cucumbers , anything ) and any fruit but there was none .

And now for the Bad Thing !!!! , THE AIR CONDITIONS really have a big problem , Its not only our room , i guess something was wrong with the electricity in the hotel as 4 rooms suddenly had problems with their air conditions,,, we were in august and had no solution but to open the window , the next day the got someone to fix it .

So as my conclusion : Good Hotel for the Winter ! Below Average for the Summer !

Small, no frills, European style hotel that is a good value in a great location. Friendly and quick check in/out and a nice breakfast included. The room was an adequate size, spotless, and air conditioning was terrific. No complaints at all...would stay again.

This was my first trip to Rome and I am so glad I picked the Hotel Fori. The staff were very friendly and helpful . Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. We also had our own balcony which was an incredible bonus. The location could not have been more perfect. The hotel is in a lovely old cobbled street which is very quiet and peaceful so you're guaranteed a good night's sleep but once outside the hotel and around the corner, you are straight onto the bustling Via Fori Imperiali. The hotel is literally a three minute walk to the Colloseum to the left and a five minute walk to the Altare della Patria to the right. We walked to all the sights from our location: the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi, Quirinale, Bocca Della Verite, Piazza del Campidoglio, Capitoline Hill and more. There are several restaurants and cafes less than a minute from the hotel and a wonderful Gelateria or two. The hotel organised our taxi transfers to and from the airport. I hope to return to Rome again as I fell in love with the city and I will certainly stay at the Hotel Fori.

We stayed for two nights this month, July. Read loads of reviews of the hotel, chose it mainly because of the location. Price and roof terrace were also major considerations. The lady who checked us in and was on reception most of our stay could not have been more helpful and friendly. Very nice indeed, as was the man serving at breakfast time. Room 205 was of perfect dimensions, not vast, just right for us to rest and sleep in. Plenty of storage for our cases and so on.Bathroom spotless.Mini fridge. Air conditioning very effective. Wifi strong. Slept well in the quiet of the night, only a few voices were heard outside one evening.
Breakfast was usual Italian, continental foods. I am vegan, so bought yoghurt to have on cereal, which i could chill in the mini fridge. Supermarket close by on via Cavour. As many people have said, the coffee is really good. Really good!!
The location is in amongst the little streets by the Colosseum. Exactly where i have wanted to stay. Transport and attractions are just moments away. As are plenty of places in all directions to eat and drink. 'Il Gelatone' on Via Serpenti is the best gelato in Rome we reckon.
The hotel roof terrace is delightful. Mostly we were by ourselves. A section of the Colosseum and Forum can be seem along with other terraces and Roman home life.
We will most definitely stay here at every opportunity we get.

We stayed in a double room for 3 nights. Room size was small, but okay as we didn't travel to Rome to sit in a room! Comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom, shower a bit awkward as it was a bathtub one and the floor beside bath got very wet.
Great location, very close to station and Colosseum. Handy also for many other attractions. Very quiet considering where it was. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff, lovely buffet breakfast. Would certainly recommend and use this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable, though certainly nothing fancy. Amenities are good: air, tv, iffy wifi, fridge, elevator. Our room had a nice terrace, but most don't. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, but early is better than later. Lots of choices. The location is great, close to 2 metro stops and the Colosseum. Interesting, safe neighborhood. Not as noisy as the center, but still a bit loud.
