“Excellent small hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

I was not going to bother to post a review until I saw the May 3rd review...it is simply not true that this is not a good hotel for a solo traveller. I stayed here in late March and it was great. Yes, my room was small, but it was perfectly adequate and comfortable, plus it had a small balcony that was awesome (and if it hadn't had that, then I would have hung out on the nice roof terrace). The location is excellent--close to the Monti buzz, plus multiple landmarks, but in a small quiet street.
The staff were helpful and no, the towels did not smell.
By the way, a cab (that the hotel called) to the train station was about 10 euros, not $28 (although it's easy to get ripped off coming from termini to the hotel...)

Excellent Service, great breakfast, very comfortable bed, small bathroom, especially shower.

Room Tip: Very quiet rooms, close to Colosseum and Ancient Rome. Airport car service available.

All I wanna state in this review is that I only went for 2 nights and thank goodness that was it.
The room is no where near those I saw online. The room is too tight you can't put your luggage anywhere. It's the smallest room I've ever been to. Another issue was the towel smell! Well, I noticed that the whole of Italy don't know how to do towel laundry. They all smell like crap.
Breakfast wasn't terrible though for a 90 euros a night that wasn't bad at all.
Other than that the location was perfect a few blocks away from the Colloseum.
Internet isn't free as stated here, and when I asked for a shuttle bus the reception stated that they never had one they don't usually manage a taxi for you but they did, as it's not a nice walk if you have lots of luggage.
For a Solo traveller it's an okay hotel although they'll end up giving you the tiniest room. Definitely not a romantic hotel.

We loved this place mainly because of the location. Unbeatable.
Clean room with basic facilities. Breakfast was very good. What we loved also was the attitude of the staff. They gave nice tips about restaurants and also helped us to make reservations.
Overall a very good experience, would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel Fori Imperiali Cavalieri is situated perfectly, close to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, all easily reached on foot. A metro stop is located at the Colosseum to get to places north as well as to the Vatican although only 35 mins on foot. The hotel is very clean and located in a quiet side-street . The staff are friendly and the front desk very helpful with requests and tourist advice. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, an assortment of fruits and pastries, yogurt, coffee, juice and tea.
Would certainly use this hotel again.
Please be wary of paying for a taxi ride from Termini Station, 28 Euro's !! Its only about 1km on foot and its down-hill .

The Cavalieri was a perfect little place to stay in Rome. Just two blocks from the Colosseum, the Roman Ruins, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, and an easy walk to the Ancient Center. A metro stop is located at the Colosseum to get to places north as well as to the Vatican. The hotel is very clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and the front desk easily managed special requests (extra blankets/taxi to the airport). You can't beat the value while in Rome. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, an assortment of fruits and pastries, yogurt, coffee, juice and tea. There is also a roof top deck where you can enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening, but considering the hotel is nestled in the middle of a block, the view from the roof is limited.

Nice little hotel walking distance to the colosseum. The hotel is nothing special but for the price it is worth it. They serve a nice breakfast in the morning and the staff is very helpful. However there are a few very good restaurants right around the corner from the hotel that made the stay a little bit special. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go to the restuarant (forgot the name) to the right when exiting the hotel...Fantastic !
