“The Ecstasy of St Teresa alone is worth the visit”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

One of the most beautiful sculptures in all of Rome is here in this church. Bernini's masterpiece as far as I'm concerned! The church is almost easy to miss as you walk by in the neighborhood but take the time to step inside.

Bernini's sculpture of the Ecstasy of St Theresa is beautiful and worth seeing. The church itself is stunning.

“Ecstasy of St Teresa = stunning”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

The famous statue Ecstasy of St. Teresa was truly stunning and a wonderful introduction to Bernini in the flesh. The frescoes on the ceiling were vibrant and the marble angels float down into the church beautifully.

“Ecstasy”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Many people go out of their way to visit this church just to see Bernini's Ecstasy of St. Teresa, and rightly so. I didn't know until I read it here that you could light the figure by inserting coins, but the natural light supplied by Bernini's alabaster window seemed perfect to me. It was just as Bernini intended us to see it. St. Teresa is, of course, stunning. The church is decorated in the Baroque style and is beautiful in its excesses. If you're a Bernini fan, don't miss it. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, stop in even if you're not a Bernini fan. St. Teresa might make you one.

“Bernini at his best!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

It is walking distance from the Hotel Cecil. Check the hours because it closes for lunch and siesta:) No entrance fee, if you want to see the Santa Theresa statue illuminated you have to drop a coin in a box at the left of the chapel that lights it up for a little while. We had to wait on the church steps for a while and decided to walk around and found ourselves at the Diocletian Baths, now a church, very nice too.
