“Diocletian Baths & Church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

Very close to Augusta Lucilla Palace hotel and Termini station.
In November had a fascinating Gallileo exhibit including a transept long column showing Gallileo's theories about heavens.
Disliked that part of Gallileo exhibit had a light payment machine. In order to read exhibit, Euro coins had to be used to pay for lights.

“Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

Designed by Michelangelo Buonarrati on top of the ancient baths, the outside is striking for its brick facade. The inside retains its ancient Roman columns; a meridian line (sundial) was added in the late 1700s. An interesting mix of architectural eras.

“another short visit”

Walk into this building and you are on the site of the former Baths of Diocletian. As with other churches in Rome this is very ornate.

“Galileo andMichelangelo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

This church is built into the ruins of ancient Roman baths. The original interior was designed by Michelangelo. Meridians of heavenly bodies are inscribed in the floor and there are representations of the signs of the zodiac also. There was an exhibit about Galileo and his relationship to religion but no apology. There is a small garden and a branch of the National Museum behind the church. It is located on the Piazza della Republica.

“Suprising and beautiful church”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

The exterior of this church looks more than anything but a church, but when you're inside the beauty can surprise anyone. The church is situated in Piazza della Republica and it's easy accesible by Metro.
