the Pantheon. Neither one thing nor the other, and disappointing on both counts. It felt neither sacred nor special: it was just a tourist attraction.

“Massive, beautiful church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We spent a while enjoying this church. First of all, it is huge. Second, it is gorgeous. The ceiling, sculptures, paintings. Well worth some of your time.

“Beautiful ceiling!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Don't miss this lovely structure. We went for church and were disappointed not to hear a choir or even any organ music. However, the little sights inside were a feast for the eyes.

“Rome is full of surprises”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Rome is full of surprises like a church behind the Pantheon. Amazing Gothic church in Rome..Beautiful ! Inside, the interior opens up in all its pointed-arches, blue-sky-with-gold-stars Gothic glory. Walk all the way to the apse, and you'll see, on the left, "Christ Bearing the Cross," a marble statue started by Michelangelo in 1521

“a little surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

What a little surprise right behind the Pantheon. Found this church the last night we were in Rome by mistake. To have the statue of Christ done by Michealangelo at the altar. Beautiful!
