Rome is full of surprises like a church behind the Pantheon. Amazing Gothic church in Rome..Beautiful ! Inside, the interior opens up in all its pointed-arches, blue-sky-with-gold-stars Gothic glory. Walk all the way to the apse, and you'll see, on the left, "Christ Bearing the Cross," a marble statue started by Michelangelo in 1521

What a little surprise right behind the Pantheon. Found this church the last night we were in Rome by mistake. To have the statue of Christ done by Michealangelo at the altar. Beautiful!

The church is very lovely and unique. There is a statue by Michaelangelo that you can touch. The Christmas decorations are very beautiful. The cieling looks like the sky with golden stars.

The very plain looking exterior of this church hides a temple built to Minerva which dates back to Roman times. It also contains Michelangelo's Moses. This is simply beautiful. Just 50 yards from the Pantheon. The obelisk with an elephant atop it tells you that you are here. You must see this.

This church is in the piazza de minerva - the one with the Bernini Elephant- and looks like nothing from the outside. However, upon entering it is very beautiful and ornate. Centrally located near the Pantheon and free to visit.
