“Interesting and relaxing.. wonderful views of the Pyramid”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

People are always surprised when I want to take them to a cemetery but this place has such a nice feeling thati do go baack and have a wonder around the pretty and curious graves every now and then. The view of the back of the pyramid is amazing.
They have recently tidied it up and is much nicer with well looked after gardens and lawns.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

This graveyard is just simply beautiful.
It holds the graves of Keats, Shelley, Gramsci and Severn.
It is peaceful and pretty and kept in a great condition (and I recommend using the bathroom here as it actually has a seat)
It is well organised and filled with beautiful statues.

The man in the book shop was helpful and took great pride in his work.

It was well worth a visit
And well worth a donation

“legendary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

You can find here Shelley's tomb, and also Keats'. There is also the Piramide Cestia, outstanding and impressive. But the best reason to visit the cemetery is the worldwide famous Angel of Grief, which is kept in this cemetery. You cannot miss it!

“Make the time to find a calm green haven in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Stumbled across this by accident. There are several famous graves here - including Keats and Shelley. Each with its own personal tale to tell. But the draw to this place is its shady silence after the full on impact of The Romans and the heat. It's beautiful....meandering pathways, amazing designs and luscious foliage.

“Just go!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

I'm an English major and also prefer the less known spot.
Protestant Cemetery is not that hard to find, but NOTICE: it closes around 4:30pm.
I went there twice coz the first time I was there at 5:00pm.

The cemetery was peaceful, quiet and holy.
There was a lot of trees so it wasn't too hot.
Every grave had its own uinqueness.
There was Keats, Shelly and Goethe( not sure if it was really Goethe tho)
I love it alot even there was lots of mosquitoes.

The cemetery acquires 3? for donation, but nobody is there for collecting the money.
Even it's so, people'd better contribute that the cemetery is really taken good care of.
(There's was a couple went out without paying, that's very rude and impolite)
