“Good Location!”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is just OK!

Cons: small room, very small shower room!, no elevator, they didn't clean our room before we check-in. My mother saw a shoes under her bed (from previous customer?) and also under our bed is not clean.

Pros: free beakfast, cheap price, good location very near in Campo dei fiori!! walking distance to all main sites. Staff are helfpul only the problem is they speak limited english. Free Wi-fi access in the lobby (you have to ask for the password). I can sleep very well :)

We stayed here for three nights in May. We are three retired ladies who travel a lot and had booked a triple room. Having read the very mixed reviews we went with an open mind. Our room was perfectly adequate and cleaned every day. Bathroom was small, but again perfectly adequate for the price we paid and breakfast ok but did not like the 'concentrate' juice. Reception were not particularly friendly and spoke only a little English, but they gave us a map and showed us our location. As there was no safe in the room we put our valuables in the safety deposit at reception. Location is fantastic and we ate in Campo dei Fiore every evening, and were able to walk to all our destinations ie Trastevere, Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colloseum, Borghese Gardens etc. We noticed a sign in the hotel lobby for a taxi service to the Airport for Euros 40. We asked reception to book this for us, which they did and on our departure date we left our luggage in a room by reception after checking out. Our taxi came at the arranged time - a very spacious car and friendly driver. Really we had no problems and for the price we paid felt the hotel was perfectly adequate - and the location perfect for our needs.

Room Tip: We had first floor room facing a court yard. A little noisy at night but the hotel is in the centre...

1) Filthy 2) Rude staff 3) Sewer Smells 4) No elevator 5) No such thing as a good view. 6) Very noisy 7) Could not give directions.

This place is filthy. My mother and I stayed here for 2 weeks. Not once did they sweep our room (tile floors, not carpet), and the sewer gasses would come up DAILY. They had a glade plug-in in the bathroom, but that just covered up the smell. There were multiple footprints all over the walls. We stayed in two different rooms. One was with the view of the street (noisy, street cleaners go by at least once a day - good for Rome, bad for tired travelers.) The other room was with a balcony, we had the view of an apartment, where someone hung their unmentionables up on a clothes line and a restaurant had storage below. Also noisy. Both rooms had foot prints and hand prints on the walls. Not once did they change our linens, and we had to ask for clean towels. We tipped the maid really well in the beginning, but as we realized that nothing was getting done, we stopped tipping her. All she did was tuck our sheets into the end of the bed and take the tip. Once we noticed that she went through our luggage. Nothing was missing... but that is still odd! I don't think she cleaned the bathroom at all either.

One member of the staff (older man, beard.) was completely rude to us. Over a complete misconception about payment, he started screaming at us. Screaming at the top of his lungs, in Italian. We had no idea what his problem was. He made my mother cry, and he just kept screaming. He thought we didn't pay, but we tried to assure him we did. He actually kicked us out and we had to pack our bags and were ready to leave, defeated... When we had someone come and translate for us and try to calm him down. This miscommunication left me baffled. Who on earth reacts this way? There were other tourists coming downstairs to see what the heck was going on, and it was just this one man screaming at us two tired tourists. We were holding out our credit cards trying to get him to shut up and he took 45 minutes to calm down. Completely insane!

We eventually got a room back, since we already paid, and it was smaller. What a complete disappointment.

The one and only good thing about this place is the woman who hosts the breakfast. Breakfast is free (coffee, croissants, cereal, milk, orange juice from concentrate, bread and jam.) The woman who kept the dining room neat and tidy was delightful. She didn't speak much English, but she was very pleasant. She was the only person to apologize for the mix up over the payment and she wasn't even involved.

They had no knowledge of the bus lines or any public transportation. They have one "cab" company they operate with and it is a man who smokes and has no license for taxi purposes. Outside of the main tourist attractions, they couldn't give any form of directions.

Go somewhere else where you get more bang for your buck!

We stayed for 7 nights and find the hotel quite okay. There aren't many facilities, but we wasnt expecting that either. Staff sometimes seemed a bit grumpy, perhaps due to limited English.
No problems what so ever.

The hotel sits in a perfect location in walking distance from many tourist attractions. Breakfast is good. If you are travelling with elderly (that was my case) avoid this hotel because they might offer you a room at the 3rd floor and there's no elevator. I've tried getting a room at a lower floor, but staff was not very welcoming to my idea. The street is very noisy, specially on Saturday nights, so if you are planning on waking up early on Sunday to go to the Vatican, you should have that in mind.
Cleanliness is OK. Shower is OK. TV did not have Italian channels and, more important, the AC was not working and the reception staff told me it was "under maintenance".
Wi-Fi is good, but only available at the ground floor.

The Pomezia is located very close to the Campo dei Fiori in a very old and interesting part of the city. However the hotel is very old fashioned with only very basic facilities. There is no lift. It can be noisy at night. A plus is free and very fast wifi

I visited the Pomezia hotel in february and when I came to my hotel room at noon it was very cold, estimated 15 degrees. They couldnt fix the heat so on their own initiative they gave me another room.
When I was checking out after my visit the man in the reception wanted to charge me 40 euros extra than the room I first booked. When I tried to explain the situation the receptionist was very rude. I got anxious and didnt want to miss the plane home so I was forced to pay him.
I even tried to mail them afterwards, but of course they didnt answer. Definitely choose another hotel.
