Very nice hotel!!! Good location - not far from city center,
but in a quiet location. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with small kitchen. Everything was excellent, we enjoyed our stay and we hope to visit Rome and this hotel one more time!!!

We stayed here august 2012 during what has to be the hottest summer on record in Rome 40c regularly.
This place was excellent as it had a small but perfectly formed pool which was a godsend! the place itself has bags of character, our room had a mezzanine level where both bedrooms were. beautiful high ceiling and real style. we stayed in a suite which can sleep 4 people so quite good value for money also. It was slightly dark due to not so many windows but not a major problem as we were either in the city or by the pool during the day anyway. beds were really comfy. The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Our son had his 11th birthday whilst there and They organised a delicious cake and even went and collected it for us!
there was a decent sized kitchen so you can eat in if you want. Word of warning though the spiral staircase to bedroom made getting the suitcases upstairs interesting though not impossible. Avoid if you have mobility problems.
Whilst this place does not have childrens activities - it is not a 'resort' kind of place - this does not detract in any way they are extremely child friendly.
I would definitely recommend staying here as the pool is such a winner.
Rome is a fantastic city, and we will be back and will try to book here again. a nice quiet area opposite a beautiful park and zoo. take a bike around the park. Or walk through the park and you come out at the spanish steps within 10 -15 mins.

Room Tip: suites are brilliant for family and give you added option of kitchenette.

We were traveling with a small baby (10 months old) to Rome. We found very good reviews of this apartment on trip advisor and booked this apartment for 5 days. I must say this place is one of best experiences so far. The place is far superior and practical when compared to the hotels. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, a complimentary wine on arrival. The staff is very helpful especially at the front office.
The package also included Breakfast , which was very good.

The place is away from the crowded Rome hotels. The apartments is approx 10 minutes away from station (Termini). The cost by a cab to Termini is approx 10-13 Euro.
Overall, its highly recommended for stay in Rome.

We booked a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom for our group of 7. We were allocated rooms on the ground floor both were dark and faced the street. That said they were very clean and the quiet location meant that there was very little noise from the road. The rooms are large and although dated quite comfortable.
The location is a bit out of central rome but only a 10 euro taxi ride from most places. The pool is a real bonus in the heat of the summer and great for the children. Breakfast was suprisingly good and staff all friendly and helpful. A good choice for families who like a bit of space and a pool.

The pool:
We chose the Aldrovandi Residence City Suites for the swimming pool. The idea was, that with hot summer weather, we would do the site seeing in the morning and then again in the evening but spend the hottest hours of the day by the pool. We were really glad for this, as summer in Rome is hot indeed. The pool is nice and big and was surprisingly uncrowded.

The room:
Our room (junior suite 505) was fantastic. Big room, comfortable and firm matress, nice bathroom, living room and kitchen with everything we needed. Good aircon. Our room overlooked the main street but was so well insulated that we couldn't hear anything. It is a tranquile area anyway.

The staff:
They all went out of their way to be friendly & helpful. English is widely spoken. In particular, Enrico was fantastic. He speaks perfect French.

The location:
Top notch residential / embassy area. OK, it is not central, but that is the price to pay for a great swimming pool. It is really not that far. Walking through the Borghese park into town is a nice 20 minute walk. Also good public transport, especially for Vatican. See below.

Public transportation:
Tramway 19 and bus n°3 stop right in front of the hotel. Tramway N°19 will take you directly to the Vatican. Going in the opposite direction, you can ride either tramway 19 or bus n°3 (faster) to "Policlinico" and from there connect with the metro (B). Bus n°3 also continues on to Trastevere. One ticket (1,50€) does it all. There is also an electrical bus (116) that you can catch from inside the Borghese park that will take you into town.

Taxi:
We paid approximately 10€ when taking a taxi back in the evening. From the airports, there is a widely advertised flat rate with all taxis of 30€ to/from Ciampino and 50€ to/from Fiumicino. However, this only applies to any point within the Hadrian wall which is not the case of the Aldrovandi suites. From the hotel to Ciampino, we paid 38€ for a prebooked taxi, (approx 35 minutes on a quiet day).

Self-catering:
One good point was also having a fully equiped kitchen in the room. If you are staying for severall days, you probably don't want to eat every meal out. We found a "tigre" supermarket on a corner, at "Policlinico", at the point of transferring from the metro to the bus. Room rate includes a very good breakfast buffet.

So all in all a great choice, especially on a hot summer day. Perfect with kids.

The front desk is manned 24 hours by courteous and efficient staff that seem happy to help with your needs . The room we were given was fine with a quirky tiny spiral staircase that just adds to the experience . Ok it's slightly out of the way but to us this was a huge plus with the park to stroll through to either the Barberini area or Spanish Steps area with the metro within a 15 minute (nice) walk . Finish the day with a swim in the pool and dry off in the Roma sun on the sunbeds which are attended . The pool bar provides drinks and a couple of basic snack options and is in the expensive side but if this is the price of having the facility then so be it .... When in Rome . You may need to do a bit of walking or , as we did , spend a few quid taxiing so if you want to do cheap then maybe look for somewhere located in central Rome . You only live once is my motto !

We enjoyed our stay in het hotel. The hotel is situated on a beautiful location.
In the morning we walked to the city centre, in the evening back we had to take the taxi (because of the park).
The swimmingpool was very welcome in the warmth of the summer.
The service was very friendly.

The service didn't know much about the metro/ tram and busses. We had to find this out ourselves.

The breakfast was not spectacular, more basic.
