Just steps from the Republicaa metro stop yet on a quiet street, this hotel offered all we could want. It was beautiful inside with Rome character. Rooms were spotless, AC worked well (when it was 95 degrees outside), the breakfast was good and the staff was always very helpful. There are several good places to eat within steps of hotel as well as a good spot for picking up fast-food pizza slices or late-night gelatto. And, if you're missing ice in your soft drinks, there's even a McDonald's down on the corner. This is the fourth Rome hotel I've stayed in and it is by far the best. FYI, Rick Steves recommends this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 20, which had twin beds and looked out on a nice courtyard.

We have stayed here twice and we love it each time! The hotel is in an excellent location to train station and easy walking to all sites in Rome. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we liked getting out of the hustle and bustle of the main attractions. Rooms are very clean and nice and breakfast room and food is very good . The staff is wonderful and helps you with anything you need! Wonderful neighborhood bar and restaurants a few blocks away which are extremely local- go exploring you will love them! Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!!

We stayed here for one night prior to embarking on a cruise. Since we planned to get from the airport to the city and then from the city to the cruiseport in Civitiveccia using public transportation (and carrying our bags), we wanted a hotel within walking distance of Termini Station. The reviews of the Aberdeen Hotel were quite good and the price was just right, so we booked a room and I'm glad we did!

I would definitely "Google" directions and a map to this hotel from Termini before arrival. The streets around Termini can be somewhat of a rabbit's warren and you don't want to be going the wrong way when you are pulling a suitcase! Once you find the hotel, you won't ever have a problem finding it again. The only indication of the hotel is a small brass sign outside the door, so be watching the street numbers as you walk along Via Firenze.

The first thing that struck us about the Aberdeen Hotel was the friendliness of the desk clerk. He certainly started our stay in Rome off on the right step! Although it was only noon when we arrived at the hotel, our room was ready and we were able to freshen up before going out to sightsee. The room, as expected, was small, but it had all we needed and was quiet! I thought the bed was going to be too soft for sleeping, but I slept like a log. We had a tasty breakfast with a nice choice of items the next morning and the desk clerk was again so friendly and helpful to us. He was happy to store our luggage until mid-afternoon and he gave us maps and specific directions on the best route to the Colosseum and the Forum.

Should our travels bring us to Rome again, I would definitely book the Aberdeen Hotel.

The staff was really helpful, directed us to a great restaurant and local attractions, but like most reviewers, the beds are in bad shape. Very close to the main train station and metro. Room #34 has a banging pipe in the bathroom; you will have to keep the door closed not to hear it. Breakfast is good and the staff will arrange a taxi ride to the airport if needed. There is 12Euro Rome tax that has to be paid in cash once you check out. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Room #34 has a banging pipe; close the door and you'll be fine.

Hotel Aberdeen is very close to Via Nazionale, and Piazza Repubblica. Therefore conveniently located to get to the public transportation and, shopping.

The Hotel shares the building with another hotel and the entrance sign is not that big but the rooms are clean and size-wise good (for Rome standardts).

The hotel front desk is especially corteous. Although I have heard the same thing from many of the other people who stayed there, Matteo was there when we arrived, and he did everything that a frot desk is supposed to do.

A good price/service balance.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Viale Firenze will get more sunlight, than rooms looking into the inside court. Of cour...

My family (including our 3 teenagers) stayed two nights prior to departing on a cruise. Costel was very helpful through the rez process and scheduled a 5-person taxi to shuttle us from the airport to the hotel for a very reasonable rate (65 Euro). Costel was equally as helpful in person, when we needed a transfer to the port, advise on walking routes throughout Rome and booking us tours to the Colosseum and Galleria Borghese. Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with a roomy shower, great water pressure and a blow-dryer. There was plenty of room to put away clothing if you were staying awhile. Breakfast was plentiful, but consisted mainly of cereals and pastries so not good if you try to avoid carbs. That said, there was sliced boiled ham and cheese as well as fruit available. Our hostess made us Cappuccinos one morning, which was wonderful! We loved the hotel location because we were able to walk to all ancient Rome sites except the Vatican. The Metro was located just behind hotel (5 min walk) and it was 1.5 Euro/per person to travel to Vatican...easy!! We look forward to another visit to Rome and would stay here again. Thank you to everyone who helped make our time in Rome enjoyable!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 2nd floor and looked out into the courtyard. Our kids' room was also on sec...

Clean rooms, ours was quiet and we faced the street. Friendly and helpful staff, recommended restaurants and gave us help using the bus. Good (not great) breakfast but there was a good choice of cereal, pastries and some fruit and yogurt available as well as cheese and ham. Close to major tourist sites, affordably priced, whats not to like? Would recommend to friends and family.
