“Good hotel near Termini”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

It is a very good hotel near Termini Station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice room with good design, not worth than 4* hotel. We had a room with a quite big terrace, where it was very pleasant to sit in the evenings. Also we had a bath with hydro massage. I would choose this hotel for my next visits to Rome. The closeness to Termini Station is very convenient for different trips.
For me it was not very comfortable that there was no curtain in the bathroom and the floor got wet when you take a shower. But it is a trifle.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Hotel Contilia. The area is a lively Roman neighborhood right near the Termini train station but was not intimidating like some of the other areas near Termini. See my review of Hotel Urbis for example. Staff was friendly and professional, the building quite modern with bathrooms added at some time in the recent past. Our room, on the first floor, was quiet and quite small with the queen sized bed taking up much of the room. Great breakfast in a beautiful room with varied pastries, juices, rolls, cereal, jogurt, etc. Super clean bathroom and room. Air conditioner worked fine but slowly. American and European travelers should really get a reality check on hotels in the center of Rome. These hotels don't have king sized beds. Neither do they have super large elevators and if you don't like to experience a real Roman neighbor hood you should go to Las Vegas The tiny complaints are not worth mentioning. About 75 Euro/ night plus 2 Euro per person per night Rome special hotel tax. No way around it.

this hotel is very close to the train station. kind of a sketchy area. found it expensive in the area to eat, have a drink. Our room was nice, clean, modern (407). No courtyard which sucked. Price was reasonable per night. no room service and the wifi connection was spotty. OK breakfast - nothing great. for 70 Euro/night, its pretty good value.

The location of this hotel is near Termini, i.e. very good only if you come by train. The area is one of the worst in Rome. Coming by car means spending 20 euro per day for parking. The rooms are pretty big and confortable. You also get free internet. You can pay by Amex or others. The pain is the tax imposed in many cities in Italy which in Rome is 1,5 euro per person per night. They only accept cash for this tax....

I stayed at hotel contilia for eight nights in july 2012.Despite some negative reviews which I had read ,I could easily have stayed more(but for my schedule).I cannot comment on a single bed room-because I booked a double bedroom. The room was cleaned every day.The lift was small but operative.Breakfast was included-which was a bonus.Staff genuinely tried to be helpful. The location was close to Termini Station-and thus to the Metro(trains). The mini-bar helped as did the free in room safe. The location was safe-even in the evening.I would book it again.

Room Tip: Book a double room

Keep away from this hotel. The location is in reach of every atraction, by foot but the hotel dos'nt live up to 3* I would meen that 2* is all.
I had a singleroom i mid May. The room was the smalest room i have ever had. If you would use the toilet, you would have to place your legs under the zink in an acrobatic way.
I booked the hotel by Boking.com and the site said that the room would have a balcony. This was the main reason, that i chose this hotel, but there was no balcony. I askt for an other room, but it was not pausible.
The breakfast was as expected, but no eggs and no chease. Halfcold thin coffe.

Me and my wife visited this hotel last weekend and we were very satisfied.

The hotel lies about 5 minutes of the Termini station, the heart of the public transport in Rome.
It's a small hotel with ditto rooms but they are very clean. The provide free Internet for travelers and have a adequate breakfast served in the morning.

The best thing is the relatively cheap price of the hotel and the cheap restaurants immediately in the neighbourhood.
When you come back from a long walk around Rome or even better the Hop-On - Hop-off bus it's very relaxing to go out the hotel and have some of the best restaurants in Rome at your disposal.

Also the hotel is quiet because it is in a one way street away from the main roads.

We are definitely going back!

Room Tip: Just ask for a bigger room. The rooms can be very small in size but have the same price!
