We were in Rome for our 40th wedding anniversary and chose Hotel Dharma because of the excellent reviews and because of it's proximity to the train station as we were traveling to other parts of Italy. The hotel was lovely .... welcoming staff, beautiful, clean rooms and great location.
The management sent up a bottle of Prosecco and a fruit tray for our anniversary which was so kind!!
We managed to drag our suitcases to the train station with no issues as it was so close.
We would stay here again. We have been to Rome several times before, staying in many different areas, and I would definitely say that Hotel Dharma is one of the best.

My husband and I recently stayed in a junior suite at the Dharma. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with a first rate bathroom. The location is great - the metro and major bus lines are literally just around the corner and many sites are within easy walking distance. The food at Cotto, the affiliated restaurant next door, was good and there are many restaurants nearby. The front desk staff was wonderful, particularly Lorenzo and Daniella, who were always friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn't give the Dharma 5 stars was because it doesn't have the kind of lounge area a more traditional hotel generally has. It rained several days during our stay and a comfortable place to read other than our room would have been nice. Overall, however, the Dharma was great and we look forward to staying in the future.

Room Tip: The rooms on the via Torino can be noisy, although we had no problem sleeping.

Dear kathymcd58,

thank you very much for sharing your experience at Dharma Hotel, we are happy that you enjoyed your visit. We are very happy that you had such a great time in our small boutique hotel. If you want to spend some time and read a book or drink a glass of wine, you can enjoy our restaraunt indoor & outdoor floors, open from 7:30 in the morning till 23:30 at night - or our wait room in the fifth floor reception. As you noticed, we are not an ordinary hotel and we try to manage the lack of facilites, turning customer service in added value for our guests.
We are definately looking forward to meeting you on your next visit at Dharma: it can't rain all the time.

Best regards,

We stayed at Hotel Dharma in October for 3 nights for our honeymoon. When we arrived, we found that we were upgraded for one night upon hearing that we were on our honeymoon. Along with the upgrade, they provided fresh fruit and Prosecco. Both rooms we stayed in were spacious, modern and clean especially for european standards. We were immediately made to feel at home when we arrived. Early check-in was not an issue and the receptionist helped us to book tickets for attractions. The breakfast was conveniently located at the restaurant next door, and was more than expected. It was a buffet style offering including eggs, bacon, pastries, fruits, and much more. The hotel's location is conveniently located near the Rome Termini train station and also within walking distance to the nearest metro station. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Dharma and couldn't have asked for more.

Dear metrohoper

thank you very much for sharing your stunning experience at Dharma Hotel.
We are very happy to know that your honeymoon at Dharma offered your surprise and more than you expected.
Everytime that we can, ,we are very glad to free upgrade our "direct bookings" generated through our website. This is something that unfortunately we are not able to grant every guest. Rooms and availabilities are limited and unpredictable until last minute.
Anyway, we are so pleased that you had the chance to get one night upgrade and enjoy one of our beautiful Wellness Suites that include a in-room spa with hot tub & steam-room for sauna.
Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing such a great review, wish you all the best and feel free to join us at Dharma anytime you're in Roma.

Best regards,

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights late Sep with a family of 4. The service, facilities and cleanliness were excellent but a little tight for 4.
Approx 15mins casual walk one way to the Colosseum and 15 mins casual walk the other way to the Spanish steps/Trevi fountain (fantastic location).
Metro was easy to use (1.5e one way ticket) and about 1 min walk from the hotel. We used it to get to the Vatican and the next day took the metro, jumped off 6 stops later and walked back to the hotel exploring as we went.
Also took the fast train to Naples (07:30) then metro to Pompeii and were back in Rome by 5pm.
Breakfast next door was excellent and also had dinner in the same restaurant on a couple of occasions and was enjoyed by all including the children.
The team could not have been more helpful and highly recommend.
On a side note, if you can afford it, strongly recommend the underground tour of the Colosseum.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 505 - not on street side and we had a small internal balcony. Were not disturbed by a...

This a good hotel with some funky features as indicated in other revues. It is very near all transport which makes it very easy to get around all parts of Rome. The staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and helping book rail travel. We really liked staying in this hotel which is a bit out of the ordinary.

At last, somebody got it right with a hotel room in Rome. The bathroom and shower is exquisite after some of the shoe boxes we tried to shower in whilst traveling the country. The spacious rooms were excellent along with the very friendly and most helpfull staff. One and only down side, the TV is all in Italian, but then again, who wants to watch TV when in Rome.
Continental breakfast in the hotel owned restaurant was also good and satisfying, yay, bacon for a change.

Dear 299chrisn,

thank you very much for your stunning review on Tripadvisor, we really appreciate your effort.
We are very pleased to know finally we found out a good place to be in Rome and we are definately looking forward to your next visits. Happy to know that you have enjoyed our enforced breakfast: one of our weak points has now become a selling point, thanks to our guests suggestions. About tv, I am sorry to say that we have many international channels on our tv and you are able to switch audio or add subtitles to many sport, or cinema channels, I am sorry if our staff at check-in hasn't explain this feature very well.
Feel free to come back anytime you're in Rome,

An amazing stay in the wellness suite with balcony & spa tub! Check in was easy & Max explained everything in the room to me including how to change some TV programs to English. Plus he gave some tips on the tourist map that was very helpful. I've never been to Rome so I can't compare the areas to where this hotel was located, but I found it easy to get to the big sites by either metro or the bus that runs on the street nearby (64 & 40). Another reviewer mentioned the gelato shop on the same street as pretty good. It's the fake stuff! :-) Which is OK in a pinch, but if in Rome why not go to a place that makes it in house? The breakfast offered at the restaurant a couple doors down was very nice. Lots of selection and not the same exact thing every day.

My room was by reception so I passed it coming & going. Every time every person working there was eager to say hello and assist if I needed it. Especially when I left the do not disturb notice on the door all day. They double checked with me that I didn't want my room cleaned. When I said I didn't need it, they were also quick to offer towels or anything else I might need more of. Genuinely friendly & helpful.

If you can, room 501 is amazing. The room itself is wonderful, but that balcony was heaven.

As some others mentioned it can get loud with horns and such. I personally don't mind. They did have earplugs on the nightstand.
