Connectivity was very important for us and hence we decided to stay close to Termini. Once that was decided, Hotel Alpi was a very good choice. Right since the beginning we had a very good experience at the hotel with we giving our preference regarding rooms and the hotel staff - especially Carla responding very promptly and accommodating our requests. We stayed in a superior room facing the Piazza Indipendenza.

The hotel is located only 400 metres from Termini - hardly a 5-6 minute walk from the underground metro. Also all the buses from the airport stop near Termini so hauling your luggage is never so much of a hassle. Also most buses stop at Piazza Indipendenza - right opposite the hotel. Especially bus no. 492 to go to Campo di Fiori area. Walk 200 metres and not less than 10 eating options open up. The street where the hotel is located was extremely safe and nothing to worry about here.

The room itself was well appointed. Very clean, good toiletries and fine washroom. Multiple pillows and good decor. Nothing much to complain here.

The breakfast was good with varied options. We are vegetarians so we had different variety of pastries, home made jams, croissants, bread, juice, excellent yoghurt. To be picky - there was no hot vegetarian option - something like potatoes or beans. That would have been ideal.

Lastly, the free wi-fi was good but the speed was ok - we definitely would have liked it to be better! For these two reasons we shaved off a point. The staff was very friendly - Carla, Saveiro and even the support staff. We felt welcome here and would have no issued recommending the hotel at all to anyone.

January is off season in Rome but we found fine weather. One additional sweater and we were good. Plus fewer people. Rome in January is definitely the best time to visit! We got a great deal. Stayed 4 days and paid ~Euro 75 per night.

Room Tip: We liked the room facing Piazza Indipendenza.

Chose this hotel based on reviews & location to Roma Termini. The only good thing about this hotel is the location & Carla in reception. There is a supermarket & laundromat nearby and for dinner go to Mama Angela's (best restaurant in the area - and we looked!!). We booked 3 months in advance & were given room 112 on the ground floor near reception - very noisy and not renovated. Moved to 3rd floor unfortunately still overlooking noisy street (needed to sleep with window open as too warm), it was renovated but very poorly. "Drain" smell from bathroom, only given 2 towels, dirty glasses never replaced during stay, poor lighting. Breakfast is poorly organised, always waiting for clean glasses, eggs, milk, etc. Lift often not working - had to carry our bags down as porter helping other people checking out. This is not a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: ask for non-street facing, renovated room.

Our first visit to Italy was between Christmas and New Year. It was a wonderful experience. We stayed at the Hotel Alpi which was in a good location for what we wanted to do during our visit. The hotel is close to the Termini train station, bus deopt, shops, cafes, a grocery store (good for when traveling with children),restaurants and several attractions. The hotel itself was very nice and clean. We had a nice size balcony and I was a bit concerned about the noise level being an issue at night, but it wasn't. We all slep well. The staff and the people working the front desk were friendly and accomodating. We would gladly consider Hotel Alpi on our future return to Italy and recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the front of the hotel are not noisy as I had expected. You'll be able to rest.

This clean, modern hotel near Termini train station and bus depot, with a very accommodating staff, is highly recommended. Our extended family had a family room, a triple and a double between Christmas and New Year's and enjoyed every bit of our stay. The lovely breakfast and free Wi-Fi were particularly noted. Our requests for single beds were happily accommodated as was the desire to switch a room because of a more manageable layout. Since the bus system is so convenient, and easy to use from this hotel, my added travel tip is to obtain a master bus schedule of routes before arrival.

Hotel Alpi is the perfect base to explore Rome: close to the railway station (Termini), you can walk and visit the best attractions of Rome: Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Colosseo and Vatican City too.
Rooms are ok combined with the rates. I suggest the "superior" ones, with confortable beds and clean bathroom. Wifi free available. Absolutely quiet rooms, not so easy to find in Rome!! Breakfast is full of pastries and salt dishes, youghurt, hot and cold drinks. You can easily skip lunch after the "Alpi" breakafst. Staff is very kind and can help if you need something in terms of arrangements, transfer and others

We stayed at this hotel in between Christmas and New Year, 2 adults and 2 kids (8 & 13). The staff make this hotel a place to revisit, they were friendly, professional and accommodating, in particular the front desk and breakfast staff who were brilliant. Breakfast was a wide and varied choice of food that was fully maintained up to last servings at 11 am. We had a family room that was just what we expected and ticked a # 1 factor wherever we stay and whatever star rating, clean and comfortable! There were a few minor observations about the room that that we commented on the feedback card for attention and benefit of the next guests but nothing to dissuade us from returning again. Well done Hotel Alpi!
