We have stayed in Hotel Alpi, Rome for 4 nights and we were quite satisfied with everything, breakfast, kind personnel, hygiene and decoration of the rooms. Also the hotel is very close to the central metro station of Rome; Termini. It has all the features you would ask for in a 4-Star Hotel.
You can choose this hotel without hesitation.

We give our sincere thanks to all the personnel.

Stayed here for a city break after reading the reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The bedding was beautiful white linen which pleased my wife. Good shower. Staff very polite and helpful especially the Porters who would serve us drinks on the terrace. The only minus here was that we sometimes had to go to the reception to ask for the terrace bar to be opened, maybe a phone link to reception might help. Breakfast was amazing so much choice presented beautifully and fresh. Would definately recommend this hotel for location. All the major attractions are within walking distance or take the Metro from Termini 10 mins at the most.

We flew into the ROME airport and had a private car ordered through Hotel Alpi pick us up. The driver was promptly waiting outside of the international exit terminal with a sign. He took us straight to Hotel Alpi (about 15-20 minutes drive) and we paid for the car at the front desk (no tip required). We arrived several hours before check in but they were expecting us and had us in our room within 15 minutes. Their bell hop carried our bags up the stairs (should tip about 2-3 Euro) and we took the very small lift.

We booked a "family room" which was extremely small with two king size beds side by side. You could literally hold hands with the person in the bed next to you if you wished. There was a wet bar (chargeable if used), a small closet where you could store a suitcase opened if needed and on the side of one of the beds was a luggage rack for another suitcase. Other than that there was VERY little floor space so we had to store other baggage under the desk/table that was located at the foot of the bed. There was a 45 inch flat panel television above that desk as well. (we did not use it). On the far side of the room was a floor to ceiling glass double doors (well insulated to noise) that had an electric rolling metal cover that you raised and lowered from inside the room with a switch (added security). If you walked out those doors you could see the street and stand on a very small balcony. It was beautiful at night but very noisy with sirens 24/7 so we left them closed most of the time while in the room. However, it did not interrupt our sleep.

The bathroom was all black and the shower head was REALLY large in the shower. It was FANTASTIC. Not a lack of water at all or even hot water and 4 of us showered every morning around 8:00 a.m. The lighting in the bathroom made it hard to put on makeup in the morning but there was also another door to the outside on the outer wall with an electric metal slide as well so if you opened that you were able to bring in more light which helped. I suggest traveling with a couple 220-110 converters so that you can use your shavers, cell chargers, camera chargers, hair straiteners, etc...

The staff at Hotel Alpi were extremely professional. Some were much more friendly and helpful than others but none of them were rude. They were ready to provide recommendations if asked and also spoke clear English as well as other languages that I heard. They dressed in very nice suits and their appearance was professional.

The breakfast room had a large selection of goodies. Breads, pastries, meats, cheese, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit cocktail and fresh fruit as well as yogurt. You could also get juice, water, tea and coffee. The coffee order was taken at the table and brought to you with fresh steamed milk if requested. I felt that the breakfast was plenty to carry me until late lunch and it was included in our room price!

At night you could go to the 3rd floor bar and enjoy GREAT service and a good drink in their little courtyard. It was beautiful and very enjoyable. I also spent a lot of time in the morning out there reading before my traveling companions were up and ready to go. If you are a smoker, you can smoke there as well under umbrella's if it is raining and stay dry.

We took the metro subway line B (about a 5 minute walk from the hotel) to the Piramide stop which then gave us easy access to Rome Ostiense Train Station to catch our train with Italo. (about 20 minutes total travel between metro and walking to the train station) The Italo train was awesome (will do another review for that) and got us to Florence from Rome in about 1 1/2 hours.

We did not have any problems with gypsy's or pick pockets, however, the metro and also the train station was VERY crowded so I could see where there was potential for problems. Just keep your belongings in hard to pick places and you will have no problem. I believe you have more to worry about with petty thieves around Trevi Fountain which was EXTREMELY crowded and only enjoyable for a quick look and fast picture due to the masses of people around you. We took the tour bus and had a blast! You can hop on and off wherever you want so seeing Rome was much easier the second day after we decided to do that.

Rome seemed to be the dirtiest city out of the three that we visited (Florence and Venice). The food also that we had at a couple of different restaurants was not that good either, but their service was always top notch! I love that about Italy compared to the USA. You always get service. We sat down every time we stopped to eat or drink and also paid the charge because it was worth it to rest in a clean place, use a clean bathroom for free and also people watch.

I have no complaints with my stay at Hotel Alpi. I thought it was great value and would stay there again but most likely not in a family room. There just was not enough privacy staying with another couple in such a small space for the price. I would recommend Hotel Alpi. The hotel was spotless and absolutely beautiful just exactly like the pictures online and the beds were extremely comfortable!

Room Tip: Do not ask for a family room unless you must. They are very small and two rooms would be much better

Nice place, good service. They also brought lost luggage to our room. Nice view form the terrace.
But the eggs for breakfast had been boiled 2 minutes too long. A short walk to Termini with all sightseeing you want (or train).

Nice room, nice shower, very comfortable ... The breakfast is the usual similar to many hotels in Rome, but still good quality. When I come to Rome for my practices is always comfortable staying there. The price is also affordable compared to nearby facilities. I'll see you soon!

Stayed here for 4 days for sightseeing holiday. Very nice room, breakfast was good, met all of our expectations, Location was nice, 2 blocks from Train Station. We walked to several sights (albeit they were ~1 mile away), walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, and Forum.

It was a nice place to use as abase for touring room, very centrally located and we were able to get around w/o the use of taxis or metro.

The hotel is close to train station the way I need, but maybe there are more than 2 or 3 diferents hotels inside the Hotel Alpi. Unfortunately I was sent to farest one, where I could only get my room taking one elevator, walking a few metters by 3rd flor´s corridors and than get another elevator where you should choose betwen your wife or your luggage. Just to make it clear, even if you want to take the stairs you will not be alowed cause the fire alarm would turn on.
At this special room (not bad in terms of confort) the wifi doesn´t work. And when we complain abour this with the at the front desk, he simply said that at our room the wifi dosen´t work properly.
I tell you if I could know about thi previously, I would not book at Hotel Alpi.

Room Tip: Escape from 310 room
