Nice stylish [modern decor], comfortable hotel. We had a deluxe room w/balcony up on the 4th floor. The only downside was the unseasonably wet, cold weather - so we could only take advantage of the balcony on our last day. The central location is extremely convenient to the Termini [2 blocks away], the bus depot @ Termini [the #40 takes you to the Center] [bus passes can be purchased at the Tabacch next to the Gran Caffe Guiliani a block away from the hotel enroute to Termini], the Villa Borghese & MACRO museum and only a 30 minute walk to Rome Center. Several good restaurants are on the street as well (highly recommend Da Vincenzo for dinner - classic Roman)!!

Room Tip: street side rooms can be noisy [if you're not well acquainted with "city" street noise...

Just my luck, I got a room on the ground floor whose street-facing windows do not open, I presume for security reasons. It looked nothing like most of the pictures online here or on the official web site. I guess they are renovating room by room and mine is among the old ones? Also, WiFi simply doesn't work in that room.

I complained and got to change to a much better one, which looks like those in everyone's photos. So please beware of that.

The public areas have charming decor. Very sleek and tidy. Breakfast provides good variety of food. However the breakfast salon's laid out is a bit awkward.

The staff are helpful and friendly. Use the Castro Pretorio station for metro instead of Termini, even if you're trying to ride line A. Castro Pretorio is many times calmer and navigable then Termini.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor.

We had a deluxe room. It was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very close to central station and borghese gallery /gardens but unfortunately nothing else. There is however a bus right out the front that takes you past the trevi, pantheon and right to the Vatican. That being said you do need to rely on the bus, Alot. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

My husband and I have been using Rome as our base for travelling to other parts of Europe during our 5 weeks here, so we have been at the Hotel Alpi on 4 occasions recently, in different rooms each time. We have consistently found the same high standards throughout our 4 visits, in terms of the welcoming, helpful reception staff, the porters, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, and the modern stylings of the bathrooms. It is a relatively large hotel, so there are some surprises, like our current room (room 154), which is one floor up, but fronts onto an interior courtyard that makes it seem like we're at ground level (makes you forget you're in an urban centre).

Other 'value added' of this hotel:
-There is a private terrace on the 3rd floor, where you can relax with an aperitivo, digestivo, or cup of coffee, enjoying the music.
- Their buffet breakfast is the best we've had in Italy: meat, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, wide variety of baked goods, many varieties of the packaged dried breads, several kinds of homemade jams and marmalade, spreadable cheese, cereals, and a great cappuccino.
- A few steps away is a restaurant that we've eaten at twice, that has received Trip Advisor's Award of Excellence for the last two years, where the food and service are great, and the prices are reasonable.
- There's a Conad grocery store just around the corner if you want to purchase some of the foodstuffs to take home, at the prices Italians pay, rather than the prices you'll pay in the stores geared towards tourists.

Just a note: There is an elevator, but if you have difficulty with stairs, you should let them know, as some of the rooms still require climbing stairs.

Hotel is only 5 minutes away from Central Station in a quiet street. Our hotel room was small, clean, well maintained and with a balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast room is small so don’t go for breakfast between 08:00 and 09:45 because then you stand in line. Nice little family restaurants in the neighborhood but skip only one namely “La Famiglia” in Via Gaeta. microwave and can food of the worst kind (not run by Italians).

This hotel was excellent. Very nice rooms, awesome customer service, the included breakfast was the best I have had in Italy so far (and I have stayed at quite a few hotels here). Only downsides: hot water wasn't that hot and the walls were pretty thin between rooms - but it was very minor disturbances. I would definately recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I had room 289, and our friends were staying above us in room 319, we were literally talking to each...
