If you want a cheap eat in a quaint little Italian restaurant off the beaten track then don't stop for food and drink in a tourist hotspot!
Taking all of that into consideration, a great location to watch the world go by, have some bubbles and eat some food.
Reset your expectations and this place does okay.

A tourist trap that will rip you off. 9 euros for a small glass of cheap wine and 18 euros for a large draft beer. They get away with it because of the great location on the square. Avoid at all cost!!!

this place destroyed my night in rome, literally. never would we thought that we would pay 6€ for a iced tea, served on a glass (not even on a can!!). that pretty much translated on a huge bill at the end and no satisfaction at all.
lesson learned: never go to a restaurant in a touristic piazza!

Visited this establishment. Asked if I could have a glass of wine and told 'yes'. Then I sat down and waited. And waited . Finally got up and went to the bar to order only to be told 'speak to the waiter'. At that point we left and the person with whom I had first spoken never even lifted his head. A dreadful advertisement for Roman hospitality.

We were not overly hungry, but wanted a light lunch to tide us over until dinnertime, so we chose the Caffe Barocco. The waiter was very pleasant and did not balk when we wanted to share our meal. We shared a plate of fried zucchini flowers (excellent) and a cold cut plate. Without trying to single out our waiter, I must point out that do not listen to what Rick Steve says in his travel book on Rome. We did not find a single waiter that was "insulted" when you offer a tip throughout our stay. In fact, the waiter we had complained to us about an American family that left no tip. Tacky...yes, but informative as well.
