“Wonderful time at the Farnese in Rome, Italy in Rome.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

We loved the Farnese and would definitely return if in Rome again. It is a very charming
Hotel in a in excellent location. The staff was very friendly and always went the extra mile
when helping us with anything from directions, recommendations, or making reservations for
us.

The upstairs balcony restaurant proved to be a wonderful place to unwind at the end of the day. The breakfast there was also very good. We received exceptional service from a waitress there named Gabrielle. She was always very pleasant and adding little extra touches to everything she did. Her cappuccinos were delicious.

We found the Hotel Farnese to be very welcoming and comfortable!
We were greeted by the delightful Marco. He spent time answering our questions and giving us
dining suggestions and other information.
Our room was lovely, stylish and clean.
I loved the marble bathroom and the deep soaking tub!!!
Great location to Saint Peter's.
Easy walking to restaurants and other sites.
We really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend!!!
Thanks!!!!

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in November 2012. Got room 31 facing a busy street. It can get a bit noisy during "rush hour" (except on a Sunday) but other than that, this is a great hotel. Clean.... Comfortable bed.... Good service... Good breakfast... Great location, very close to the subway and a short walk to the Vatican. Pretty good size room.

beautiful rooftop restaurant with a view to St. Peter's. The one waitress is very good and very helpful . Breakfast was always excellent. My room was a medium size, about 190 square feet with a queen bed, a lovely little balcony,.modern bathroom with a tub and an attached shower device. I would have preferred a large shower but the balcony patio rooms apparently do not come with this single shower arrangement, so it was a choice. The linens were lovely, unbelievably white and everything was exceptionally clean in my room.

The desk person, louis is very capable of handling all and any arrangements and goes well beyond the usual concierge. He becomes your personal butler. I had train arrangements that needed to be sent to me . No request was met with anything but the greatest concern to get the job done.
One inconvenient thing: You cannot enter the restaurant by climbing stairs from 4th floor. You must take elevator to enter this room. I found that to be an inconvenience but the charm and location of this hotel was ideal for me being alone. The restaurant is not a place for having dinner unless you are bone tired and can't go a few blocks to a local place. The entrees are mostly frozen dinners to be reheated on request. The metro was safe and close to the hotel.I was absolutely secure coming back to hotel in the evenings. I enjoyed being in more of a quiet, residential area and not in the thick of the tourist crowds in the center, near Trevi for example.

Room Tip: the roof top room would be the best with a large patio, accessibility to the breakfast area is a litt...

This is a great location - out of the central hubub of Rome, however accessible and minutes away from the Metro. The neighbourhood felt very safe and was nice just to stroll through what felt very 'local' streets and find restaurants.
The hotel staff were great - especially the smiley girl at breakfast! Breakfast is a buffet and there is something there for everyone - great orange juicer too!
The room was on the 4th floor (originally I booked a basement room, but it had no window, which I did not realise at the time of booking) Was pretty small, but perfectly adequate.
There was a nice feeling coming back to the hotel each evening after a day of pouding the streets.
The lounge area was cosy and not busy
wi-fi worked well throughout the hotel

We stayed at this hotel in October and it was lovely. Quite small and in a quiet street.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served on a roof terrace.

Unfortunately the weather was wet so we didn't get such a good view. We returned each night to have coffee on the roof terrace and were served by a lovely man who looked after us very well.

I would use this hotel again if staying in Rome. It is not in the heart of everything but certainly within walking distance of most sight.

The Vatican is a a 10 minute walk away but be careful of the barrage of people selling guided tours. It was a pain.

My best advice for Rome. Book any tickets before you get there, especially for Vatican and Colosseum. The queues were huge!!

It's a residential part of town so nice and quiet. The room is small but adequate. There was a quaint balcony off the room. The elevator is a little dicey. The rooftop terrace where breakfast was served has a lovely view of St Peter's dome. Buffet breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, bacon, proscuitto, ham, salami, cheeses, breads, fruit, squeeze yourself orange juice.
Easy walking distance to some shopping and restaurants. Metro right there. Took it one day to the Coliseum. Otherwise, we walked to Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona. Nice to be off the beaten track.

Room Tip: Room 41 has a nice balcony
