I want to thank the staff for going out of their way to make us happy. The location is amazing! LITTERALLY A WALK TO EVERYTHING. the HOTEL is clean, provides a great free breakfast and free WiFi in all parts of HOTEL. We prearranged our transfer from the airport to the HOTEL thru Albergo Santa Chiara. Our driver was waiting at the terminal for us which made our arrival into Rome smooth at 10:00pm.

We stayed at the Albergo Santa Chiara in early August ever day was 95+ degrees. The evenings were 88 degrees. Our only issue with the HOTEL was our air conditioner was so loud it sounded as if there was a jackhammer in it. We reported the noise and were switched to a different room. the air conditioning in 2nd room did not work at all. we were moved to a third room which was great, clean, had air conditioning that worked with no noise!

This hotel is clean and comfortable, but the service is not very warm. The reception desk and the concierge are willing to help, but you have to really pursue them. The breakfast was very basic, but ok. The service staff at breakfast was also just acceptable. They were efficient, but not friendly. However, the location of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are a decent size, given the fantastic location. I literally did not take a cab anywhere. I walked to the Pantheon (less than one minute), the Colosseum, the Jewish Ghetto, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Borghese Gallery (a bit of a hike), with no problem. This is a great hotel if you don't need hand holding. If you do need a little hand holding, it is still a good bet for the money.

We just returned from a two week vacation in Italy and were fortunate to be able to stay again at this hotel while we were in Rome. I can't say enough about It! The location is wonderful....a few blocks from the Pantheon and walking distance to so many other important sights in Rome. The hotel is tucked away on a street close to shopping and lovely little restaurants. This was the second time we stayed here and both times we had a wonderful room..modern and very spacious. It was a triple and certainly large enough for the three of us. Breakfast was great..lots of choices and helpful staff to attend to you if needed. The front desk staff is amazing!! One of the nice gentleman was also there the last time we had stayed at this hotel. Both times he made us reservations for restaurants as well as museums. He answered questions about everything and was so pleasant and helpful. Everyone who worked there was as well. We have stayed at many hotels in different European cities and this one is definitely a find! We will stay there again when we return to Rome!

I got a great deal on this hotel through Booking.com and had a perfect stay. It's not a fancy hotel, but has an unbeatable location just 2 min from the pantheon, nice service at reception, good internet, and a great breakfast buffet. If you're just looking for a nice, clean, quiet hotel with comfort and good facilities to base your exploration of the city from, then this is your place. I would definitely stay here again.

We're traveling with a young child and decided on this hotel based on other family reviews. We got a triple which was perfect for us. For a big city the room was very nice. We had no issue with air conditioning and the room was very comfortable. The location is perfect. You can walk anywhere. They have breakfast but it didnt seem very appetizing. Our only complaint was the staff was lacking. They seemed just bothered if you asked them anything. They were never rude but just not very friendly. I understand the language barrier can be an issue, and I understand city attitude but in an international hotel you would think that would not be the case, and it was, more than once. That being said, I wouldn't not stay here again. I just wouldn't ask the staff for recommendations or help.

We were a large family traveling together - 8 adults - 1 toddler. We booked a triple room and the family room. The triple room was a standard hotel room. It was clean, comfortable, modern. The family room was a bedroom (with a king bed) and then 2 single beds in the living room area. We were provided a portacrib for our daughter which had fresh linens. The family room had a terrace that was fantastic. We were able to have a glass of wine and gather outside rather than being crowded in a room. The room was also clean and modern and the shower was phenomenal. The location can't be beat. In a quiet area, but tucked right behind the Pantheon and a few blocks from Piazza Navona.

The staff here was friendly and helpful. On our first day in Italy, our daughter woke up jet lagged and grouchy and wanted milk - the front desk worker was so kind and went into the kitchen to fill her sippy cup with milk even though breakfast wasn't being served yet.

I would say that the concierge could probably step up a bit with having tours and activities info more available. We wanted to book some tours and a) the front desk said they didn't have any info (maybe a language barrier on my part?) and b) by the time I realized the concierge did indeed have tour info, I'd already popped into the Hotel Minerva next door and they had more info available.

The Santa Chiara is a nice Hotel perfectly located for exploring the city by walking in the Heart of Rome. Rooms are pretty quiet compared to city center standards. Some Rooms in front have a beautiful church view. Still the Rooms are getting old and need some makeover. Breakfast Room with no windows, but good quality food and variation. Lobby is nice and even has a small terrace to the piazza. Guys at the Lobby could be more friendly.
