It's worthwhile searching for this pizza place, if you are a coeliac/ gluten intolerant, I can say that their gluten free pizza is the best I have ever had. My friends who were not gluten free also had pizza said theirs were fantastic too. The menu was varied and I wish we had found this place earlier on our trip. Our waiter was also friendly and helpful.

Friendly, gluten-free or normal, affordable, in Trastevere; just a great place!

We go to Rome a couple of times a year and always stay in Trastevere (the best area with lots of restaurants and bars). In a little street you'll find Mamma Eat! restaurant. What a find! Don't let the Gluten-free signs scare you off; the whole menu is available as normal OR as gluten-free. They have 2 kitchen's; 1 gluten-free and 1 normal.

So if you can't have gluten you can finally taste the delicous italian kitchen! It's very hard to make a pizza glutenfree, since the dough is to stiff for the traditional way of making a pizza and it burns easily in the oven. The taste is almost the same as a normal pizza, but less heavy.

Because of the friendly Gianluca we went 3 nights in a row during our last visit. He is from Naples and loves to work in Rome, you can tell on how cheerful he is. The owner Giovanni (also from Naples) said they really enjoy the life in Rome and you can tell by their behavior. Just a relaxed vibe here at Mamma Eat!

Try the Tiramisu Pistacchio, wow delicious! And you can Take Away aswell (if you're stayning in an appartment and want to relax at home for example).

PS. I tried to convince them to put Tartufo pasta on the menu (since they can get them from Naples) and then this place would be perfect :)).

Visited mama eat as a gluten free traveller in Rome. Definitely did not disappoint! I could not believe there was a huge menu full of gluten free meals for me to choose from. The quality, size and price of the food is great. The menu has all the traditional stuff and some less run of the mill italian food. Wait staff are very helpful and friendly and the restaurant is situated in a quieter area. My non gf travel companion also enjoyed the food. A definite must if you're in Rome.

we went here because we read it had gluten free pizza and pasta but the food was just awful. the pizza might have been ok without the smoked cheese but for the most part, the meal tasted like american sloppy semi-fast food. not the fresh, yummy goodness we love about italy.
