I made a mistake while booking, and asked to cancel the room. They didn't even email me back. The next message from them was to review my stay, so here it is. I would say that the customer service, at least online, isn't the horrible.

If you're there for the university or the hospital, good location. If you're touring Rome, it's way out there.

Two subway stations basically near, about the same distance of walk (approx. 15 min walk). At one station, it's a challenge to find the hotel the first time and the neighborhood is almost ghetto-like, but people are friendly if you need help. The other is a flatter walk, more commercial en route.

The positives: - the front desk. They are great. They help with any issue, look up subway info (it was closed for repair, we found out the hard way, and the front desk staff assisted with alternatives), etc. - the breakfast buffet. Great variety. - cleanliness. This place is kept very clean. Housekeeping is also quite friendly and they try to stay out of your way if you do meet. - bathroom pretty decent. - it's one of the nicer looking buildings in the area. And, while the area is nothing special, it has friendly, affordable businesses, including a nearby pizza place, and across the street stores. - more affordable than closer in. Still, lots of time lost in transport.

Not so good: - location, if you're visiting Rome itself. - overactive heater, so to speak. Plenty of balcony doors were open in the morning, and perhaps at night. So, you won't freeze in the winter. - beds rather hard.

We read the recent reviews just prior to arriving & were a little concerned. However, what we found was a good value hotel. The only iffy comments we'd make were that the headboard was a bit tatty & the air con wasn't in use. However, the shower was great! Powerful & hot & the ro was immaculate each day when we arrived back to the hotel. Breakfast was yummy & plentiful & the staff were really helpful. The hotel is outside of Rome but the public transport is cheap & easy to use, €24 each for a weeks pass. The taxi from the airport has a fixed €30 charge. We got the train & bus back to ciampiano as that was super easy once we had spent a few days using public transport. All hotels have a tourist tax of €6 per person per night which we were unaware of & had to pay €48 on leaving, but fortunately we'd kept some funds back anyway. Area is not the most salubrious but we never felt unsafe or at risk. We had a great holiday.

Well.. I will start with the positives because there are not many!

The room is ok. Bed is large and comfortable. TV is fine. Bathroom is fine. Just a bit tatty.. half the plug sockets are hanging out the wall, Stains all over the ceiling and walls. Terrace would be perfect if there was seating provided.
Breakfast is average, not a large selection.

And the negatives...
- The hotel looks dirty, there are cats constantly running around and doing "their mess" in the flower bed pots outside. There were plates of food left outside the hotel and were left there the entire time so god knows what they attracted.
- The staff aren't the most friendly and everything seems to be a huge inconvenience to them. They could do with a course in hospitality for sure!
- The gym is ok but the 2 main machines don't work properly.
- There is a bar downstairs by reception but it never seems to be open or anyone attending the bar.
- The area surrounding the hotel is not the most pleasant so just be cautious.
- There is litter absolutely everywhere!
- It is absolutely nowhere near the Centre of Rome, and to get there is not the easiest experience.
- A small tea or coffee making area in the room would benefit seeing as the bar is 90% of the time closed.
- No room service option

The cleaning staff are probably the most friendly and helpful people working at this hotel!

The hotel itself was lovely, clean and staff were really helpful and friendly however unfortunately the location was terrible.

We got a taxi from the airport as it was late and as we were driving past the back of the hotel we saw at least 50 police officers (carabinieri force) who had blocked the road for reasons still unknown. When we asked the taxi driver if this was normal he said for this area yes, this is one of the more dangerous areas in rome. Upon googling the surrounding area (Tor Bella Monica) we realised that he was correct and therefore we did not feel safe walking outside when it was dark which was early as it was January. We spent 1 of our 3 night break here as we paid to move to a hotel which was in the centre of Rome. I would not recommend this hotel personally but if you are due to stay here or on a strict budget just remain vigilant within the surrounding area at night.
