The location of this hotel makes it unsuitable for a city break to Rome. This could be mitigated if the hotel offered a reliable courtesy bus service to the nearest metro station (the end of the line). This however was not the case. The bus service when it did run, (subject to cancellation without notice), could be in any old bus they decided to use that day. For example, one day we missed the bus because we didn't realise it was the old bus marked 'Police Association of Rome' parked outside and up the road of the hotel!
Although not connected with the hotel, the bins in the car park close by were not collected and there was stinking rubbish lying everywhere with the expected wildlife in evidence as a result. The location is not in a very salubrious area and travelling to and from the metro station to the hotel is a precarious business. There are many undesirable characters hanging about the bus/metro station. On one evening, we actually had to approach the police who were present most evenings and ended up paying for a taxi to the hotel as the threat was perceived as too great to risk public transport.
During our stay the pool was closed for 3 of the 4 days. Apparently it was being 'worked on' due to the bad weather by colleagues. No person was ever seen working on the pool and no discernible work had taken place during our stay. There were 3 sunbeds supplied around the pool all of which were broken!
The room was very clean and towels were changed daily. The maids were polite and accommodating. The breakfast was satisfactory although the machine coffee was unpalatable.
The main problem with the hotel was the lack of customer service shown by the female reception staff which on occasion bordered on rudeness. However, the male member of staff who checked us in was extremely courteous and informative.
I would not stay at this hotel again and could not recommend it.
