“The hotel was a plane a train and a bus away.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

We arrived in Rome knowing our hotel was about an hour away and we didn't pay for the transfer as it was going to cost £70 each. I googled the price of the tube and train and bus and in the end bought a weeks pass that enabled us to get about on all transport for 48 euros!! for both of us ,, Result. It was an experience and made our holiday having to speak to the locals asking how and where to go. It was august and was extremely hot.

We arrived at the hotel slightly early from the booking time so we checked in and left our bags in the secure room. Then of for a walk to the supermarket for a beer. It is situated right behind the hotel but because we didn't ask this we walked about two miles before we found it.. own fault! As you can imagine 1 beer was not enough!!

The hotel itself we couldn't fault, it was clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly, helpful and most had a sense of humour. Our room had air conditioning which was fab.

The only thing I will say is that the bar at the pool was not open enough. It was the end of August and was red hot so on the days we stayed round the pool refreshments were not available.

We ate in the restaurant two night and found these prices reasonable also. The food was faultless and the menu offered meal deals..

We hope to go back to Rome and would definitely stay here again. We stayed for a week so the pool area was a god send as we got to relax by the pool on the days we weren't spending in central Rome.

Rome itself is just out of this world!! Love it x

It was a wonderful and comfortable hotel. It was amazing clean and nice. The stuff was really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good. There was also very nice shopping center next to hotel.

Only It was far from city center and taking time to get there even we car. Also the internet was not working.

The Hotel is located out from central zone, even is well linked to Rome main monuments by bus and metro. Is made by 3 different building , 2 levels blocks, breakfst is in the main one where is reception too. Rooms are wide and comfortable, good bathroom ( but with tent and not cabin for shower) little noisy neighbours . there is a monster mall just close to hotel. Personnel is professional and gentle, breakfast is complete even the hall is quite anonymous. very good price/quality rate. Is good for people that don't like to stay in town or for 1 day passage traveller.

Room Tip: second floor and away from lift

I booked this hotel on a very last minute deal and found that the place perfectly met my expectations and turned out to be very good value for money.
The room was comfortable with a pleasant and functional bathroom and very clean.
This is not a cosy and intimate solution; it is rather a large establishment ideal for conventional business trips, so if you are looking for a pretty and romantic hotel, this may not be ideal and you may want to look for something more towards the city centre.
By the way, the lady at the reception when we arrived was friendly and professional, while the gentleman who was there when we left wasn't as nice and efficient but still reasonable.

Didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised, staff were excellent and polite, room was very clean with daily cleaning, breakfast was better than anticipated with plenty of variety too. We even had a packed breakfast given to us as we left before breakfast time because of flights, definately would return again. Local to metro station for quick transport to Central Rome too.

Visited here in August, stayed for 5 nights with my friend, we are 2 females in our mid-late twenties..
We pretty much got what we paid for.. an ok(ish) hotel for a good price!
Rooms were clean although small. Our first room was really small and didnt have a balcony (and the shutters were stook down over the windows so we couldnt even look outside, it felt very claustrophic and dark) so we asked to be moved, they moved us the next day without a problem into a slightly bigger room with a balcony although the view left little to be desired, overlooking the back of a local shopping mall haha, we weren't bothered by this as wasn't planning on spending much time in the hotel/ room anyway. Hotel and rooms were clean, breakfast was ok, mainly a selection of pastries and cakes, bread with cold meats, cheese and yoghurts, some scrambled egg but it was gone in minutes as they never seemed to put enough out to cater for the number of guests.
Location: We had to get a bus and a tram into Rome city however it didn't take longer than about 20-30 minutes and was really straight forward, the bus stop is right opposite the hotel, took about 5 minutes to the tram station then it was just about 8 stops on the tram into the city, only cost a few euros a day in total. I actually didnt mind having to get a bus and a tram, kind of felt like we got a bit of a 'rea' Roman experience..
WIFI: Felt like this was a bit of a rip off, it cost about 8 euros to use the WIFI for 24 hours however you could only use it sat in the hotel reception, didn't stretch to the bedrooms, not ideal if you need to check your emails at night from your room which was the main reason i needed it.
Overall for the price we paid the hotel offered good value for money, although I think next time I would rather pay slightly more for a better hotel, closer to the city.

We are here at the moment. The hotel is lovely, but very loud during the night. Rooms are nice and clean, service polite, but if you come to visit Rome I would not stay here as is away from the nearest metro station about 2miles, so to walk to metro station laurentino takes about 1h, unless you want to find a bus or get to colossi by taxi you have to pay between 20-30 euros! So my advice is to get a hotel close to the metro station! By metro you can visit most of the popular things on one day! Is very easy and it cost all day every line 6euros. Would not recommend the cristoforo Colombo hotel, lovely but FAR AWAY!
