Location is just about the only plus for this Hotel. In fact, I probably wouldn't call it a Hotel at all. Most backpacker hostels I've stayed at were a lot better than Hotel Giada. The Hotel is run-down and the building (including the lift) is shared with another Hotel. The room we stayed in was large enough, however, the walls hadn't been painted in years. The lights and plug-points in the room weren't working the first day. There is no air-conditioning & even the fan barley works. Add to all of this - the staff was unhelpful and rude! The standard response was "there's nothing I can do about it!" The included breakfast is an absolute joke - they just give you cereal and some breads!

My overall experience in this hotel was great. First the location was perfect; just 3-4 buildings away from Termini Station, about 15-20 minute walk from Colosseum and about the same distance from the Fontana di Trevi. The room inside was clean. We had a double room and it was not very spacious, but still cozy. The beds were very comfortable. The private bathroom was very small as well. Our room had also a balcony. There was no AC, and at first we were really worried it was going to be an issue, but the ceiling fan did a very good job in cooling the air when outside was 30 degree Celcius. There was also a switch for the ceiling fan next to the bed, so we didn't have to get up to turn it on and off. There was a TV with about 150 Italian channels, but we used the TV for a maximum of half an hour a day, since we spent all day out walking the streets of Rome. What made me give this hotel a 4/5 was the lack of WIFI in the rooms. I had to take the elevator from the 5th floor to go to the lobby to connect to the internet. Otherwise, if that is not a problem for you, this is a great place during your visit in Rome.

The main condition before evaluating an hotel is considering how many stars it has. Giada is an italian 3 stars hotel which means a basic hotel. The room are not big but not small, there is not A/C but there is a ceiling fan, the decoration is essential but functional. the bed was confortable, the shower a little bit small but, overall, very clean. The breakfast is free but it is a basic continental breakfast (but with pretty good food quality), the breakfast are is in line with the hotel (basic). Cleaning service everyday and desk personnel pretty available and courteous with some difficulties with foreign language. Excellent position and overall very good value for the money (we spent 55 euro per person in a double per night)

Room Tip: Second floor could be to noisy in the morning due to the breakfast area

This was out first time in Rome so really don't know what to expect. We paid for a long weekend and thought the money we had paid would be sufficient to get us a good hotel.

The hotel gave new meaning to the word basic. The room was oppressive with one external window that just looked internally into the rest if the hotel. Nearly all of the windows in the hotel were obscured to prevent looking out?

Despite the promis of Air Conditioning we got a ceiling fan. Thankfully it wasn't so warm that we needed it. I would have hated to be in there during summer.

The eating area like so much of the hotel was a joke. A small pokey area with poor facilities and an even poorer selection of breakfast. With the exclusion of food not to dissimilar to the lift.

Whilst located near the train and bus station I saw that as the only real plus however there were seemingly better hotels in the same location. A very poor over priced hotel. I am sure you could find a better hotel for the same money elsewhere in Rome.

Hotel very well located near Termini Station

Did not have any Tourist Information in Englishor any English channels on the Tv despite having over 150 channels.

Price average for this standard of hotel. Breakfast fine but the lady in charge does not enjoy her job which can be seen in her attitude.

No stairs have to rely on the one lift

Room Tip: Ask for one at the front

My wife and myself were in this hotel for Easter of 2011 and had absolutely nothing to complain about. The hotel rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, the staff (from the receptionists to the maids) were all helpful & corteous and most of all the hotel was in a very central location. Breakfast could be better as regards the variety, but all in all it was fine. For those who are expecting much, please look away, but for those who are looking for a decently-priced 3 star hotel in the heart of Rome, Hotel Giada is just fine. If and when we shall be returning to Rome, we'd definitely consider to return there.

I have to admit that sometimes I wonder about the expectations that reviewers have about the hotels that they stay in. The Hotel Giada has garnered some less than enthusiastic reviews here which made me wonder if I had selected the appropriate hotel for our four day stay in Rome.
The first thing to understand is that this is a budget hotel. It boasts three stars, but that means little. It does, however, have a great deal going for it. Firstly, location. Literally five minutes from the Termini Railway Station and bus stand, it is ideal for those arriving at the Leonardo da Vinci Airport. The journey from the airport to the station takes 35 minutes and 5 minutes later you are checking in.
The member of staff on reception was welcoming and helpful. On the evening we arrived the lift (shared with the hotel next door!) was under repair and he showed us to the service lift across a yard. The next day the main lift had been repaired.
Our room was perfectly adequate, if a little 'tired'. The bathroom was equipped with a shower, basin, wc and bidet and a hair dryer. The bedroom has a desk, chair, tv as well as a comfortable, if slightly hard, bed. The room was serviced every day with fresh towels supplied. Double glazing kept noise levels low.
Breakfast, served from 7-9:30 am consisted of a self-service choice of rolls, toast, cheese, butter, jam, cornflakes and orange juice with a waitress delivered coffee and fresh pastry. Perfectly adequate for the start of a long day of sightseeing.
Wifi is available free in reception only, but seemed reliable and not too slow.
All in all this is a good, cheap, centrally located hotel which serves well as a base for your exploration of the Eternal City.

Room Tip: We were in room 5, second floor, perfectly good and close to the breakfast room!
