We looked at all reviews and searched for other hotels but given our budget, and in Rome you need a large budget for a good hotel, we decided on the Cambridge.

We found the receptionists and breakfast staff very helpful and friendly. All spoke English and/or made an effort to understand. The room was clean, bright, - yes basic but ideal if you are out sightseeing and just need a comfy bed, clean bathroom, fresh towels and a good breakfast.
The hotel is literally 5 mins walk from the Termini/train station - perfect for bus tours and the underground.
A few good restaurants in the area providing home made meals and family atmosphere.
We would recommed the Cambridge.

Good budget hotel for the money. Nothing fancy. Room was clean and big enough for 2 people. It included a clean bathroom, tv, and minibar. Staff was friendly and helpful, although did not speak much english. Great location from Termini station.

Hotel Cambridge is conveniently located five minutes walk from Termini station. This made getting around in Rome easy. Our towels were cleaned daily at no cost. The room we stayed in had a window facing the street and was too noisy to leave open during the night which made the room a bit hot.
There was no wifi in our room but some rooms would be able to access it - those rooms closer to the router, located in a computer room near the lobby. Free wireless Inernet access was available in this computer room. Bring your laptop as their computers are basic and dirty. A bad thing about our room was the bathroom. It was very cramped. The shower curtain was too short and the bathroom floor flooded when we took a shower. The shower heat and pressure were good however. We looked forward to breakfasts, located on the first floor and offered from 7:30-9:30am. Consisting of a bread roll with cheese, orange juice, hot drink of choice, biscuit and choice of croissant - you have to get up early if you want one of the highly sort after chocolate croissants :)
Hotel staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The cleaners and breakfast staff were always pleasant. I was a bit apprehensive about this after reading other bad reviews on here. From my experience there's one woman who works in the lobby who is not so friendly - though helpful so not a problem.
They ask you to leave your room key with the lobby whenever you leave the hotel. The lobby is staffed 24 hours a day so this was fine.
Checking in and out was easy. There were no extra charges on checkout.
Would recommend Hotel Cambridge for people looking for a cheap hotel in a good location.

stayed in the quad room for 3 days during our visit to rome.
this hotel is very basic, with no frills attached.i.e you get what you pay for.
but the hotel does the job in providing a tidy clean room with comfortable beds and simple breakfasts.
the main positive is that it is so close to the termini station and walkable distances to the city attractions. the staff were also very friendly and helpful and there are 2 computers in the lobby available for use.
the main negative is that the bathroom was very small and thus it smelt quite damp and moist

We stayed here for 2 nights for 80 euro incl breakfast after finding out that just about every other hotel was charging more in the same neighborhood. Good location not too far from the railway station and down a side street. The room was ok but the bath/shower area was far too Little and you couldn't move easily!
The staff friendly and reasonably helpful and breakfast just ok.
Will stay here again

The Cambridge Hotel is a quiet hotel near Termini station - the central station of Rome.
The room and the en-suit are not so big, but very nice and clean. There is a television and Internet . The staff is very friendly and speaks English. The atmosphere in the hotel is really pleasant. I think hotel Cambridge is recommendable and reasonable.
I can't believe bad reviews I read!
Have a nice journey in Roma - la città Eterna!
