“Excellent value for money”

Best Western Hotel Franklin Feel the Sound was our favorite hotel of our holiday in Italy. The hotel is located within walking distance of Vatican City and Ottaviano metro station. The hotel is situated in the elegant (and more important: safe!) residential Prati quarter. We liked the musical theme which meant that all rooms are soundproof. We liked the friendly staff. We adored the breakfast with eggs, fresh fruit and a barista for all your coffee needs.
If you are looking for a restaurant nearby, try 'Al Giardino del Gatto e la Volpe' in the next street. Also in Prati: Gelateria dei Gracchi in Via dei gracchi 277, according to Anthony Bourdain the best ice cream in Rome.

Weekend in Rome. Musical theme was evident throughout the hotel. Disco ball in the bathroom was surprising - but cool. Rooms were clean and staff was pleasant and helpful. Appreciated the use of the laptop and printer in the lobby. Added plus was the full breakfast. Eating area outside was cozy. The hotel was a comfortable 10-15 minute walk away from The Vatican.

First trip to Rome and we wanted to try to find a hotel that was centrally located to be a tourist and we ended up booking this particular Best Western. It's located pretty close to the Vatican. From the airport you can catch a van for 50 Euros or you can e-mail the hotel ahead of time to get a car service. Our car service never showed up. Apparently with the time difference and how often everyone checks e-mail, they didn't realize we needed to be picked up. You enter through the doors and infront of you is a staircase that goes up to the rooms, to your right is a sloped ramp to their main sitting lobby. The receptionist is there to check you in. They were always very pleasant to deal with. Check in is in the afternoon so you have time to walk around before hand. They do have a laptop you can use in the lobby to browse the net. They also have free wifi. The codes only last a 2-3 days and then you have to go get a new one. They do have a printer too in the lobby but at the time of our visit, it wasn't working. They do have a collection of music you can borrow in the lobby and they usually put out some snacks and drinks in the afternoon in that area.

The very good thing for us American travelers.. free breakfast. Not just pastries.. but they actually had some eggs, bacon, sandwich meat, rolls, fruit, pastries, cereals, water, juice, and they have an espresso bar that they can make you something. That was very nice. Added bonus to this particular Best Western. The eating area is not so big but there are maybe enough to fit 8 groups. It is located behind the lobby and the elevator for the hotel is located right there as well.

The rooms are nice. We weren't able to get a balcony but we did open our window to see neighbors across the way. The room had a high ceiling. Very clean design with the wood floors, an open shelving unit to hang your clothes and put your suitcase. There is a safe in the room as well. A small desk in the corner with chair. Drums as our nightstands were cute. There is a mini frig with drinks inside. Charge you of course but enough room to put a bottle of water we bought from the store in there. TV with stereo system on the wall area infront of the bed. Thin blankets for the warm weather I assume. The bathroom surprised us for sure with the blue light and disco ball spinning. Very nice though. Definitely not use to the Rome toilets where it is 2 piece. The first day we flushed it... you could hear the pipes getting very loud after you flush. The next day it started to leak and the sound was getting louder. It was leaking for maybe 2 days. The sound was like that the whole week. The second night we went to bed having showered with cold water. There was no hot water than night or the next morning. They tried to fix it by looking and it but then just telling us not to touch it or move the handle. The bidet was not a pleasant smell at all. It made the bathroom smell like urine the whole time. Also, beware they do use square toilet paper pieces, not rolls!

The hotel was okay for the price. It is clean, the staff is friendly... they do speak english but not everyone. Free wifi is awesome. They do have a private car service they can call to get you to the airport for 50 euros which is almost the same price as a cab. Just tell them the day before you leave or arrive. Free breakfast is great. Bed was kinda hard. But with all the walking you'll do... you won't really notice for long. The only major issues were all with the bathroom.

An excellent unique experience will always remember!

We were warmly greeted by the front desk staffs immediately upon arrival. They offered us drinks and snacks while process the check-in, although the check-in was only couple minutes. Throught out of our stay, all the staffs were so helpful and friendly. They always ask if they can do anything for us. The smiles made us felt very pampered.

You can pick musics from their CD collections, play the favourite music in your room and bathroom with disco ball lighting. The quality of the audio system is super!

The room and bathroom are very clean. The room decorated very well, spacious and quiet. The air condition works effectively and WiFi is fast.

Breakfast area is very adorable, you can enjoy the breakfast in the beautiful backyard. Breakfast lady makes very good cappuccino for you. You can make your own fresh squeesed sweet orange juice. Foods are plenty and very delicious. You can take fruits/deserts from the kitchen when you are hungry late of the night.

The hotel is less than 10 min walk from Vatican and Ottaviano metro station. Bus 23 and 70 around corner go to all the attractions in heart of Rome.

The hotel is such a comfortable retreat, that sometimes you'd just like to stay in and don't want to go out. We highly recommend this hotel, will stay here again next time.

The hotel was in a quiet neighborhood, less than a 10-minute walk to the Vatican and less than a 15-minute walk to the nearest metro stop.
The staff were very helpful at directing us to the bus on our first day, providing transit information and suggesting local restaurants.
We had a nice room, larger than we expected.
The breakfast was good, with attentive staff. Only one disappointment - the coffee was luke-warm, not hot.

We were booked into this hotel and prepaid before we even arrived in Rome. Centrally located on a rather insalubrious back alley, and advertised as a four star which couldn't be further from the truth. They've attempted to mask the tiny rooms and ridiculous beds with gimmicks. Our double bed was a 3/4. Absolute joke I took a pic of the room with the brochure which bears zero resemblance. Utter rip off as we booked into a fat more centrally located proper 4 star hotel for a fraction more. Vomit, do not stay here.

We stayed at this lovely hotel on May9-11, 2013. It was very clean, and the location was good for us, as our main objective was to see The Vatican. A lovely 10 to 15 minute walk. There are local food & retail shoppes also very close. The metro was a little longer walk (20-30min) but an interesting one, as we peeked into courtyards and buildings with interesting architecture along the way. The breakfast at this hotel was very good, fresh squeezed orange juice, cappuchino, eggs bacon, toast, cereal, & Danish treats. We really enjoyed taking our food into a small courtyard in the back of the hotel. So quaint!!! The staff were very nice to us. We tried a little italian salutations to staff and while our language skills are not great, it is amazing how people warm up to you if you do try saying hello, or good morning in their language!!! We would stay here again, and who knows we did throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain so we may return...... ❤ Arrivederci Roma ❤

Room Tip: Small hotel and therefore rooms are hit and miss, as there are only 24 rooms total.
