“A good 2* - not a 4* - hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012

First the good points: comfortable beds (although we got a twin room when we'd booked a double) and a really good breakfast on the sun terrace - if you ignore the pigeons - they actually get onto empty tables and some idiots photograph them instead of shooing them off! The breakfast waiter was very nice, if run off his feet.
The staff are friendly but you can't get as much as a cup of coffee after breakfast. THE BAR IS NEVER OPEN! Our room was cleanish if a bit dusty but the beds weren't made one day and the bath towels weren't changed all week. The shower gel and shampoo weren't replaced either. One couple arrived from America and couldn't get any hot water for a shower.
There was only one working plug - that's if you unplugged the lamp and the WiFi only worked in the lounge and there were no notices to tell you that. In all the impression was as if it had gone to seed a bit.

We loved the location, close to the train station and near tons of restaurants. We have discovered while traveling in Italy that we aren't "old world" people. The hotel is nice but old world style - just not us.

Only bad note, our friends tried to find us Italy - they called many times and hotel said there was nobody there under our name. Our friends even stopped by the hotel and asked for us - they said we didn't exist. We even asked after returning from a day out if there was any messages - they said no :(

We stayed in July 2012. It is an old hotel very close to Termini train station. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was good but can be more clean. The bathroom was ok. The breakfast was poor for us. But the roof where the breakfast is served was really nice. AC was old, but worked efficient. Not a bad choice to stay, but could be better and more clean.

We stayed here going out and coming back; never again. The staff were surly, the manager tried to turn us away for 2 hours 2nd stay until we proved our booking in time. The bar was always closed, the tv (in 2 stays) was greyed out, the safe (2 rooms) did'nt work, the hairdryer did'nt work. Want water? Go out and buy some. Breakfast was a scrum; forget service. Check out the picture of fire exits behind our room I felt like exiting from one of the doors, says it all..this place is a joke.

I stayed at The Torino Hotel for 3 nights and I must say that it's not a 4 star hotel as it claims to be. My friend's room which was on the roof top stunk. We complained about it to the reception but nothing was done about it.In my room 611 the wall paper was coming off and i could not recharge my phone or camera as the sockets were hanging. There were times when there was no hot water. The breakfast was mediocre. We even saw 6 huge rats outside the hotel on the corner. One good thing was that the bed was soft.

We have just finished a stay at the Hotel Torino. The front desk are helpful and speak decent enough English however I found them a touch rude at times. The breakfast spread is substantial and you should be able to find something you like. The lift takes forever so the stairs are a better option. There is noise in the rooms so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The shower is positively tiny and floods basically every time you use it. The winner here is the location, close to the train station and major attractions. We walked everywhere and it was fine, even in the heat. Not the Ritz but good for the price.

Stayed in this hotel for 5 days 31 May to 5th June. Typical European hotel, very small rooms, no mini bar or room service. Staff just tolerable. The 6th floor terrace was great for Breakfast, however only 1 staff member our of 3 seemed to be working with a customer service focus. The pigeons come and eat your food, so do NOT leave your food and go back to the buffet as it will be eaten by pigeons! You can use the terrace for drinks that you purchase elsewhere as they do not have a bar. The terrace is great and we had drinks there most nights. The local restaurants all have same menu so not much variety. Overall ok, but not overly welcoming.
