The Residenza Cellini is close to the main train station in Rome which makes it convenient for metro and rail travel. However, if you like to walk, it's a bit far from the ancient sites of Rome. Our room was huge, bathroom was very nice, and the desk staff extremely helpful. Since it was our 40th wedding anniversary, they provided us with a lovely bottle of champagne and fresh sweets in our room. Breakfast was a delight every morning, with fresh pastries, cheese, and salami always available.....and, of course, strong coffee. We had one objection (and only one) to our stay there. The location made it very quiet EXCEPT there was a baby living in a room nearby and he woke us up every morning at 2AM......every morning!! Our first stay in Europe, after flying from Chicago, was at the Residenza Cellini. Needless to say, we were looking for a good night's sleep and we would have had it with the quiet location and the comfy bed, had there not been a family seemingly living at the hotel with their child. If we had known this, we would have selected a different hotel. Check this situation out before booking your room. Otherwise, we can highly recommend this Rome hotel.

If you are traveling with a young family or just want to immerse yourself in the Italian culture and community - look no further, you have found the most perfect place to begin your Roman vacation! I cannot express enough how wonderful this apartment is. Our family of five (two adults and 3 children, ages 13, 10 and 8) made this apartment our home for a wonderful 7 days in July 2013. From the moment we arrived at the airport and was greeted by our driver, to our first introduction to Gaetano and Barbara at the apartment, we knew that we had chosen the right place for our family. I will be highly recommending this apartment to anyone visiting Rome. Gaetano and Barbara made sure that the apartment was impeccable and to our surprise had a fully stocked refrigerator and pantry with items such as milk, bread, juice, coffee, pastries and much more. Apartment 11 is a spacious two bedroom apartment with a wonderful combined living room and dining room, a large beautiful bathroom and an eat in kitchen. The apartment also has wifi, air conditioning, and lots of natural light and character. Our three children shared the one bedroom with lots of room to spare. The windows open into the quiet street below and the original cage style elevator just adds to the charm. I particularly loved that we were centrally located, just steps away from Piazza Cavour. The only transportation our family needed was our walking shoes. We were only a 10 to 15 minute walk to such sites as Castel Sant`Angelo, the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Piazza dei Popolo, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Our farthest destination was the Roman Coliseum which was a 30 minute walk (with children). Thank you to Gaetano and Barbara for providing such a welcoming and beautiful apartment, and not to forget their hospitality and top notch service. We can`t wait to return!

For our 4 night stay we booked a twin and double for our family of two adults and two teens. Each room was quite large by Italian standards. The staff were impeccable – always helpful. Their dining recommendations were greatly appreciated. The hotel is situated close to the metro (and a short walk from Termini) and it is very convenient to jump on a bus from Via Nazionale. The inclusive breakfast is very nice.

Stayed 3nts pre cruise, great location-short walk to metro. Great bed, elegant room, we had a small patio off our King rm, w/ modern shower. French doors opened to outside private garden patio filled w/trellis & flowers. Lovely comp breakfast. Staff Awesome! Loved the elevator style. Loved all the dining options nearby - Al Fresco even in the street! Can't wait 2 return, would definitely recommend to all. We stayed for Anniversary. They gave ussnacks and sparkling wine. Perfecto - Grazie! nearby Excedra - shares building w/Hotel Adler.

Room Tip: We were on 5th Floor.

We were very pleased with our room, the breakfast and the outside area on our floor. Another advantage was how close we were to the metro stop. We were also pleased that we could walk to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. The location was perfect to getting to these sites and the train station. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We recommend this hotel to others planning a trip to Rome.

The rooms are clean and nice and the location, a stone's throw from the Repubblica metro stop, is very good, but in the end, it's the service that distinguishes a place. Residenza Cellini has people who want to make your trip a great success. They went out of their way for us. Donato even accompanied me to a tobacco shop to talk with the guy there in order to make sure that their scheme for mailing postcards via Switzerland made good sense. They set up a late breakfast for us one day when we were unable to be there at the regular time. They came up with ice packs for my wife who was having real problems with her knees. They gave us good advice in connection with whatever we were going to see or do. My wife and I are seniors who took our 13-year old granddaughter on her first trip to italy. We stayed in a "junior suite triple" on the 5th floor. It was a single large room with a King bed and a single bed. The bathroom was very good, with an excellent shower. We were very comfortable. Looking at other reviews, I would point out that the elevator was seldom busy when we wanted to use it. It is the old style, compatible with the building. It holds just three people at a time and requires you to open and close the door. It works great and was fun for our granddaughter. The wi-fi was very good. The two floors, 3 and 5, each have their own server. Our granddaughter Skyped with her parents and sister every day and the wi-fi worked well.
Having stayed in several Rome hotels over the years, we can recommend this one without reservation.

Room Tip: We requested the 5th floor because of the terrace. We did drink wine there on two different occasio...
