“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

We stayed at the Residenza Cellini in the beginning of August 2012. It was an excellent experience. The moment you step off the elevator and to the front desk you are greeted by a briight glistening front desk area. Besides being super friendly, the hotel staff could not do enough to satisfy any request we made. The room (junior suite) was very large with a fabulous jacuzzi bathtub. The breakfast was more than the typical european style breakfast. The location is at a great location. A two minute walk to the Repulica metro station or a little more than that to the main Termini station. There are restaurants galore in close proximity. There is even a small supermarket 5 minutes away. All in all a great stay at the Residenza Cellini. I have already recommended the Cellini to several of my friends and will use the Cellini as my hotel of choice in all my future Rome vists.

Room Tip: I would definitely go for the junior suite.

Small lovely family owned hotel with comfortable, QUIET pretty rooms and bathrooms. Staff helpful and friendly breakfast included and has something for everyone. Location great for walking and shopping as well as convenient for transportation.A gem!

Room Tip: ask staff to leave air conditioner on in summer when you are out of room

From day one, it was like stepping into paradise as it should be in the eternal city. While we may have been somewhat biased (having come in as a last minute booking after discovering that our initial hotel was not as wonderful as it described itself), our positive impression only continued to deepen with the length of our stay.

The staff are extremely helpful. Jerry and Robert who attended to us truly went above and beyond in helping us with our queries and spared no effort in making Rome our second home. It completely redefined the levels of service we have experienced.

The room (a junior suite room) was palatial. And beautiful. And simply divine. Breakfast was generous and sufficient and held in a delightful tea room.

We threw the coins into the Trevi fountain and when we do return to Rome, we'll be coming back here too.

My wife and I spent 4 very pleasant nights here in the first half of Aug 2012. The hotel is split across a few floors with reception the 3rd. It is immaculate with wooden floors, clean, nicely decorated and a sense of home from home.
Our room the 5th floor had its own small veranda, a nice place to sit before dinner. The room was quite small but comfortable desk, wardrobe, double bed and bathroom with shower. The shower has a jacuzzi which we did not use.
The staff were really helpful, the recommendation for dinner excellent, the suggestions for buses and sites spot on.
We walked everywhere except the Vatican (bus 40) and nothing was much more than 10-20 mins, Colessum, Trevino fountain close by.
Breakfast was included and was fruit juice, continental meats, pastries (very sweet), fresh fruit, yoghurts, a cake, sweet biscuits and hot water for tea or coffee. Enough to keep you going to lunch! As we are from the UK fresh milk rather than UHT for tea would have been nice and would be my only critism.
Oh and there is free wifi we had some trouble on the 5th with Apple devices but could connect on the 3rd and there is a laptop for guest use!
Go there if you can.

My wife and I stayed at Residenza Cellini for a week in June after finding it in Trip Advisor. This delightful hotel measured up to the best of the reviews on this site in all criteria: comfort, decor, service, location, amenities and value for money.

I won’t spend much space repeating the plaudits contained in most of the reviews here, but will just highlight a few points. The service was excellent, courteous, helpful and most hospitable. For instance we were aware that the hotel promises a bottle of wine for extended stays. What we got was our choice of a quality sparkling, red or white wine on our choice of nights on a silver tray, accompanied by a large selection of nibbles. We didn’t need a meal that night after that effort.

The location is so good we were able to walk to walk to such sites as the Colosseum, St John Lateran, the Villa Borghesi and the Trevi fountain and, for those we weren’t prepared to walk to, there were several bus lines and the metro less than 5 minutes away.

The room and bathroom were comfortable and spacious and the air con coped superbly with 35 degree-plus (centigrade) temperatures. We had no street noise coming into our room. We also appreciated the free wifi access.

When you read that the breakfast is “continental” don’t think of the croissant and roll you get in many European hotels. Residenza Cellini serves an ample meal of a variety of cold offerings, including juices, bread products, yoghurt and pastries with, of course coffee.

Finally, you enter and leave the hotel via an elevator with character. Although it can at times be awkward, it has charm. Having been in French hotel elevators where the choice is you both go up to your room or one of you goes with your luggage, I found this elevator quite adequate.

If we are lucky enough to get back to Rome (we have tossed our coins into the Trevi) we would not stay anywhere else.

I usually never write a review, however I can't tell you how pleased I was with the apartment offered from the Hotel Residenza Cellini. It is located at 17 Via m. Doiniga. The owner is Gaetano. He waited for us and greated us at door. We ordered transportation from the hotel. Although our flight arrived late, our car service was waiting for us with a Mercedes van which was very clean.

Typically I am very jet lagged when I fly to Europe. Having an apartment that felt like home, I adjusted well. The apartment was large. It felt like 1500 square feet. We had separate rooms for our two teenage kids. The apartment is newly remodeled. It is very clean, and I am very particular. It has a kitchen furnished with juices, milk, coffee and toast. It also came with an iron which I took for granted but now I am in Venice and did not receive one from the number two hotel on tripadvisor, I truly appreciate it. . The apartment has a stove, dishwasher and a clothes hanger to dry our hand washed clothes on. It was 95 degrees when we arrived. The air conditioner worked very well and we slept soundly every night. The apartment building is far from the hotel but is in a better location which is very accessible to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Shopping is just a few blocks away on Via Del Corso. We had an easy walk to both the Vatican and Borghese Gallery.

The neighborhood is safe and we enjoyed walking around. There are two health food stores that you can find salads such farro and wild rice.

Trip advisor provides great recomendations for restaurants and free walking tours. After three days of horrible meals, we finally used Trip Advisor City Guides. We enjoyed our first real Italian meal at Porto Costello. Please refer to trip advisor for the address.

Lastly, We never thought of having the extra space would make a tremendous difference.

Room Tip: If you have a family with teenage kids you will appreciate the space and location of this location.

This is really a great find. Location is very central. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The real value is the staff. Everyone was so helpful, with luggage, touring, transportation to and from the airport, refreshments, free bottle of wine. I felt very well cared for.
