Hotel Diana Roof Garden
Ranked #334 of 1,271 Hotels in Rome
Reviewed April 1, 2013

I like when I find a comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. If you are going in and out of Roma Termini, I strongly suggest staying in one of the hotels near the station. They are convenient and have a hint of yesteryear.

At the Hotel Diana, the front desk staff is friendly and resourceful. The rooms are large and comfortable. They are dated but I personally like that. I get tired of every hotel looking the same. They offered free mini-bar in our rate, but do not expect much – one can of soda, one bottle of water and a bag of chips.

The breakfast was the usual spread and ample. It is served on the top floor. There is a roof terrace for the warmer months, a nice spot to be.

In Rome you do not spend much time in the room so for the price and location it is ideal. Public transportation is close or you can reach many sites by foot.

For places to eat check out La Grotta d’Abruzzo via Palermo, 45; il Tavolinetto via M. D’Azeglio, 46. Both are places where locals hang out. The owner of Grotta d’Abruzzo is old school. He is charming and the food and wine are not only delicious but also inexpensive without sacrificing quality. It is how dinning out use to be.

This was an overall good hotel... well maintained and the rooms were clean. There are many restaurants nearby and shopping is within walking distance. The rooms are smaller than what I am used to but I did not mind to much.

The roof garden was definitely the highlight of this hotel. There is a great bar/eating area on the roof. Beautiful atmosphere, very friendly staff, and I enjoyed all meals/drinks. The views from the roof garden are amazing! There is also a second, smaller winding stairway on the roof that takes you a little higher offering even better views. This is a must if you are staying at this hotel in Rome!

I can recommend the Hotel Diana in Rome, it is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Wifi in the rooms, fast access to the internet. And the heating in the rooms is excellent. Breakfast is on the top, in summer a wonderful view!

Really enjoyed this hotel, close to the station and within walking distance of the main sights (in the main hotel district). The hotel was great, we had a problem with faulty wifi (which was free refreshingly) which the hotel staff made right rapidly. The breakfast was very tasty, fresh and wide range of hot and cold items. Top tip- we didnt find the roof garden until the final morning - the view is amazing and a really nice peaceful place.

Probably just scrapes into 4 star category (after all it is Europe). Comfortable and clean hotel. Good breakfast, and very helpful reception staff. Great location (even with luggage) 2 blocks from Rome Termani. Easy walk in good weather. Stayed 2 nights after return from a cruise. Traveled by train from Civitavecchia and then returned to Airport. Comforable walk to Colosseum, Roman baths, markets and forum, art museum as well as plenty of churches / cathedrals within locality.
