“A stylish welcome in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

What a delight to stay at the hotel de Russie. We were checked in by Marina and were told that we had been upgraded from a superior double to a suite!! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The concierge team, Alessandra, Daniela and Max were knowledgable and so helpful. Tea ordered with room service arrived within 5 minutes. Extra soap requested arrived immediately. It really was perfection. A most comfortable bed in a large bedroom with a very comfortable living room. My only criticism would be the small bathroom with a single basin and a shower curtain! We both had a fabulous massage. The setting is delightful and I am sure that the courtyard garden in spring and early summer must be lovely. The position is perfect for all attractions including the wonderful, shopping that Rome has to offer

This small hotel nearby the Spanish Steps was just perfect. The staff could not be more accommodating or responsive. I was traveling for business and wanted to arrange a birthday cake for a colleague. Within minutes a cake and candles appeared. The grounds were beautiful as was my room. Everything was immaculately clean. The breakfasts offered plenty of variety, including delicious whole wheat breads (for those who don't eat processed flour).

There were some 50 people from across the United States in my group, and everyone loved the hotel.

The hotel itself is beautiful, as are the grounds. Location is perfect. My only complaints are the rooms, which are very small and service is rather slow at the restaurants. However service at front desk as well as the concierge is fantastic, they really go out of their way to assist you with anything you need.

I Would stay there again.

I wanted to make this a very special experience for my partner Jamie and this hotel certainly lived up to its billing.
The huge superior room was lovely , very roomy with delightful furnishings, the bathroom was also large although I was slightly befuddled by the taps. C means hot - not cold!!! Also the tap operation is counterintuitive. Service was impeccable and they could all speak English. Would have appreciated more English speaking tv channels and also English speaking films such as Blue Jasmine and Captain Philips available in English and not restricted to Italian only.
Concierges were more than helpful although their recommendation for the restaurant Niño was a disaster - it was awful!! The hotel restaurant is fantastic.

Stayed in a very small room (118) on the first floor overlooking another wall 1 m away. Old noisy air conditioning. Asked at check in if the room they were giving me was nice, and was told confident Yes.

WiFi did not work in the whole hotel for the night. No apologies or compensation from the hotel for this. Nice breakfasts though.

We just stayed for 3 nights. The service was impeccable from the doormen to front desk to concierge to housekeeping to restaurant. The location is great for sight seeing and shopping. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was beautiful. The breakfast which was included with our reservation was outstanding.

Wonderfully wide hallways for any hotel in Europe, the Hotel de Russie has a dining courtyard with large potted lemon trees and an upper outdoor restaurant for breakfast.

Spa is large and diverse. Gardens are almost tropical.

Room Tip: get a room facing the gardens
