The Hotel de Russie has to rate as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the moment I passed through the understated entrance into the cool lobby I felt relaxed and calm (not easy given the hordes of tourists in Rome). I had a quiet, deluxe room, which wasn't cheap, but was absolutely delightful. It had an elegant sitting room, bedroom and huge bathroom with separate walk in shower. There was a beautiful terrace overlooking the rooftops where I could enjoy the late afternoon sunshine and feel completely peaceful. The room had recently been refurbished and everything was first class quality, from bang and olufsen TV to linen sheets and decent toiletries. The hotel has a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room, which were all very quiet.

After a wonderful night's sleep, I had breakfast outside. The food was good quality but probably not the most plentiful I have seen, and it seems a bit cheeky to charge extra for eggs when you are paying so much for a room. I also had lunch at the bar which, although ok, I wouldnt rate as memorable (except for the price.)

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel. Yes, it is expensive, but Rome is an expensive city. If you want a peaceful, calm luxurious hotel, right in the middle of all the action, then I think it would be hard to beat.

Room Tip: if you can afford it, ask for a high up room...it is unbelievably quiet, given the location

The location is perfect for walking around in the best shopping area of Rome. The hotel is like a Villa, with beatiful interior gardens to walk around. We stayed three nights in a standard room, well decorated, ample space, good bed, enough closet space, very good bathroom. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food was excellent and the service better.

Room Tip: Ask for a Garden View.

This hotel is certainly where you get the best service in town.
We enjoyed the late light Italian lunch with all fresh products in a buffet style.
Meanwhile sitting in the patio with a wonderful atmosphere and fresh air.
In this courtyard/patio café we have got the right attention of the waiters and watched all the beautiful people passing.
The main restaurant in a beautiful small Italian a garden with fountains is also a treat.
I will certainly come back.

Beautiful place to have a drink and enjoy views of the Borghese garden. Amazing setting, very attentive service, beautiful place to go while in Rome. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: prices of the drinks are steep as expected in a 5* hotel
