Cute hotel near everything. We practically walked to all the major tourist attractions except for Vatican City. Luckily it was walking distance to a train. Hotel was simple and okay and compacted. I remember our shower drain was a bit slow because the water would linger longer but did not overflow. Our view faced a building but we didn't mind it. Staff was helpful and was very kind to allow us to use their computer in the back room to route our day. It's on a uphill road but that didn't bother us. For a budget, it was perfect for us!

Fabulous position. Such a warm and sincere welcome set us up for a lovely stay in Rome. We arrived to be told that we had been upgraded. Always a good way to start a visit. We loved the quiet street and the amazing access to the main attractions in the city. The room was simple, charming, clean and very functional.

The breakfast was average but adequate. We would definitely recommend Hotel Julia.

This really is a great hotel if you are looking for budget accomodation in Rome. It is literally a five minute walk from the Trevi fountain and really, once you have your walking shoes on (!), it is possible to walk everywhere from here. We even walked to St Peters one day! -although this did take around 40 minutes. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and full of recommendations on restaurants and things to do nearby. Speaking of which, the little restaurant next door is very good. We ate there on our first night after travelling all day and arriving late and we were not disappointed. We were upgraded to a triple room, which was more than big enough for us and our two large suitcases. The bathrooms are small as other reviewers have mentioned but again very clean and the showers are really quite good. On the negative side the towels are a little flimsy and the hairdryer is one of those tubes attached to the wall but it's fine. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to a friend.

Room Tip: Ask for a triple room if you would like more space

We chose this hotel based on Location (and the name) and we were not disappointed! It was really easy to find from the airport to the train station then two stops on the metro to Barberini - and it is situated in such a busy gorgeous area of Rome! We were within walking distance of the Fontana di Trevi, the Spanish steps and only a couple of stops on the metro from the Colloseum, the Vatican City and many other tourist attractions. There are also some amazing restaurants in the few blocks around Hotel Julia, as well as some great shopping. Finally, the staff at Hotel Julia were just fantastic, they upgraded us for free, gave us breakfast for free, gave us great advice on how to get to places by taxi or metro, told us some great places to eat, drink and party, and looked after us really well! I would definitely recommend this Hotel to all of my friends and family, and anyone wishing to Visit Rome.

we stayed here for three nights and i have to say this hotel is very good value. we arrived around noon but were accommodated straight away. we were with another couple and had rooms in an annex adjoining the hotel. this was no problem and the suites were large and comfortable.
as other reviewers have said the breakfasts are more than adequate with typical continental fare...
cereals, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs, breads and yogurts. the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly and able to offer good advise about getting around rome.
the hotel is situated about five minutes slow walk from the trevi fountain and from there you really are in the middle of the city. buses and the metro are just around the corner in barberini square ( don't miss the church of the Capuchin monks just off the square ).
tourist tip : avoid the long queues at the colosseum by crossing the road to the palatine hill
and getting a ticket there ...it covers the palatine and the colosseum...then go back and straight to the front of the queue put your ticket in the machine ...et voila .
to sum up, the hotel julia is a great place for a budget stay in rome ....enjoy.

Room Tip: the suites in the adjoining annex are very good.

For our first trip out of the country, my daughter and I chose Hotel Julia based on its location and Trip Advisor ratings. We were not disappointed. We arrived way early for their usual 3 pm check in and they hurried up and got us into a room before noon - which was greatly appreciated as we had been traveling for the past 18 hours. The room was clean and much bigger than we had anticipated. We, unfortunately, were victims of a pickpocket and the staff at Hotel Julia, especially Paolo, were so comforting and helpful in this very stressful sitation. The location is the best, with small sidewalk cafes within blocks and walking distance to many of the attractions. We would definitely return.

My girlfriend and I loved this hotel, at first we didnt know what to expect but the staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was nice and clean and the breakfasts were superb. We cannot recomend this hotel highly enough. Negative point was that the bathroom was small but that was it. We would definately stay again, Rome is a great city we didnt want to come back.
