This hotel, some 50 meters from the Trevi fountain, offers clean and pleasant rooms, wifi for free and an excellent breakfast. You can visit any attraction by foot (e.g. the Vatican is about one hour). And if you are lucky, you will meet signore Gianfranco at the reception, who helps you with any problems/questions. I do certainly not agree with some of the negative reactions.

Room Tip: Ask for room 559, which is actually an appartment, just 50 meters from the hotel.

We were very happy with this choice of smallish hotel. We could walk everywhere, and the hotel is as it says, one minute from the Trevi Fountain, and yet quiet and peaceful inside. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff helpful, and the breakfasts were generous and with plenty of good choices. We would have liked a kettle in the room, but otherwise there was everything we needed. Being able to walk to the ancient sites, Spanish Steps and find lovely food close by was perfect for our first visit to Rome.

really enjoyed our stay. location was great, as we had never been to Rome before. Trevi Fountain right down the street, Piazzas, food, wine, shopping. A great time, and would go back!
loved the view of the sky and street from our balcony!

Arrived early morning and couldn't check in early (no problem)... they allowed us to keep our luggage there while we walked around wasting time. The hotel is centrally located and we walked everywhere except to the Vatican. Once we were able to check in, we did not receive the room I was expecting. I know, I know.... stupid American.... I reserved a suite with a king size bed; the first room we received was just enough room to walk around the queen size.... but we were tired and called it a day. The next morning, I went and spoke to the staff showing them the reservation I made, we ended up receiving was 2 singles pushed together which made it a tough sleep.
The hotel's location and staff were fantastic.... just ensure you get what you are promised.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main hotel are much smaller. Ensure you print out your reservation (Yahoo, Hotels.com...

The best thing about this hotel was checking out of it. We had a room offsite , the double doors leading to the suite were very grand..the illusion was shattered when we stepped inside. Musty, damp, really and imean REALLY ugly inside...some kind of weird crushed stone stairway leading to the upstairs which can only be described as a vertical climb...plenty of windows that did not look outside and a bathroom that I could not turn around in (I'm only 5'2)
Our Internet did not work in spite of the front desk insisting they would fix it for three days...I can't waste anymore time talking about how abysmal this experience was. My advice is DONT DO IT!

My husband and I were originally booked to stay at the Hotel Cesari but arrived in Rome to find that the tour company i.e. Gartours (Rome) booked through Sun Island tours in Australia had not confirmed our booking (booked months in advance) and had transferred us to the Hotel Trevi. They stated they had upgraded us however I would beg to differ. Whilst the location is good instead of having access to a roof terrace, view, bar, wifi and tea and coffee facitlities we had none of these amenities and were in a room located up an alley away from the hotel with no views or tea and coffee making facility and a tiny window with no internet access. We found the staff to be ambivalent and the breakfast average. Whilst our time in Rome was enjoyable and we are normally very tolerant tourists having travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and the Middle East this was a very disappointing introduction to Italy and I would not choose to return to this hotel and would not recommend either Gartours or Sun Island Tours to any prospective travellers.

Be prepared. It is likely that your room will be located away from the main lobby. However, once you get used to this difference, it is inconsequential. We were traveling with 5 people, and needed two rooms. The rooms were joined in a common area, and the room for three was actually two rooms in the unit, which was a plus. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The biggest atvantage is the location! You're in the middle of everything Rome! It is walking distance from restaurants, major attractions, and of course, Gelateria Valentino! It's certainly not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but it is clean and certainly comfortable.
