“November in Rome”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

I stayed here at the beginning of November 2012. The hotel was clean and safe.. the breakfast room was good to look out over the city and the actual breakfast was ok enough. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for a good base with the perfect location! The Trevi is literally stumbling distance and there are many, many restaurants, bars, cafe's on the doorstep! Great value for money and would certainly stay again!

Arrived on the 12th of April. We are on the 5th floor and the elevator is non operational. There are 114 steps from the ground to the 5th floor. compensation offered - you can use the jacuzzi. They are renovating and there is dirt and dust everywhere. Normally I would not bother about this, but 114 steps is way too much. Certainly would not recommend - especially for the price you pay. So disappointing. We are with an older relative for his birthday and their answer to him not getting up to the restaurant is room service rather than breakfast with us. A really disappointing start to a holiday organised for a special occasion. Please ... Choose another hotel!

Good hotel if you want to see all of Rome it's right in the centre from here you can go in every direction. The Vaticaan in a 1 hour walk or you can take the bus thats 5 minuten from here.,Nice area and good breakfast. Don't expect luxery but it's just a simpele and good hotel with nice rooms.

Arrived Maundy Thursday and were allocated a tiny twin room next to the reception area with the bedroom window barred up and closed ( presumably because it opened at ground level into the noisy street). The two beds filled the room with little room to get into the bathroom. Very stuff and hot at night with no way of getting the window open. No tea or coffee facilities. Staff appeared busy the whole time and presented a false disinterested smile when we asked for anything. Breakfast adequate but we arrived early. The breakfast room at the top of the building was chaotic, so dread to think what it would be like in peak periods. When we checked out, we went for a walk and then returned to wait for out taxi to take us back to the airport. We were told we could not wait in reception and told to wait in a downstairs room that is allocated for departing guests. I explained that my elderly friend could not do all those steep stairs, so we had to leave the hotel. We returned to get our cases and told to get them ourselves as the bell hop was run off his feet. They did call him and he eventually arrived and helped my carry the bags upstairs. Would not return to this hotel. The location is convenient but the noise from the street at night and lack of any comfort makes it one to avoid.

Room Tip: Do not take room 102

Found it quite difficult to enjoy the Trevi, the staff appeared friendly until you asked for something and then they could not help or understand. We were told by reception staff we could have a jug of hot water any time (there are no tea making facilities in rooms) yet when I asked we were told 10 minutes, returned to reception after 20minutes and they said it would come when ready, never ever arrived?? The room we had had a window that faced an air conditioning unit, pipes etc that were in a duct between the walls of he building, there was no natural daylight whatsoever, and there was the noises associated with heating/air conditioning etc day and night. The room became so very hot that we needed to leave the main door open to get some air through and we slept on top of the beds with the window open! This was in March so presume would be worse in summer, air con not on, only heating! However, as we did not visit Rome to sit in a room we were not too put off and looked forward to breakfast on the rooftop terrace as described. After using the lift we had to climb a spiral staircase and found a room where breakfast was available, it was very crowded and the two staff were run off their feet,no crockery, cutlery or chance of a hot drink unless we could speak Italian and demand a table be cleared and relaid! Again we appreciate that it would be crowded if all guests go at the same time and made the best of it, but even going at different times made little difference, except to highlight how well the Italian speakers were treated. The door key failed regularly and we would have to return to reception to have it re-swiped.There was a communal room downstairs which we thought may be comfortable to use and have some daylight but it was small and contained a few upright chairs only, the reception had a computer and use of the Internet was free, there was cold drinking water, boiled sweets and free city map. We could also get Internet access in our room using our own iPad. The hotels main advantage was its location near the Trevi fountain and being in walking distance from other sights and a metro station -Barberini, it was also quiet at night being used mainly by older couples

Room Tip: 103 does not receive any natural daylight

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfectly adequate because we were out all day and basically used the room to shower and sleep in. Our room was in the main part of the hotel-quite shabby-mould around the shower and sink that sort of thing tired paint on the walls and worn out furniture.
Apparently there are other rooms outside the hotel in a different building which are much better and recently refurbished. We chose to stay in the main building as breakfast was served here.
Breakfast is serviced on the top floor. There is a tiny lift which gets you there or else it's a walk up some very steep stairs so beware if you are not fit! The variety of food served again adequate. Service was poor, it was very crowded and hot (and that was March imagine summer) so we only ate here the first morning. There are so many fabulous coffee shops all around the hotel which are very reasonable that we decided to actually enjoy our breakfast.
The one thing this hotel has really got going for it is its amazing location literally a 100yards from the Tevi Fountain, 10minutes from the Pantheon, 30 mins from the Vatican etc very centrally located.

We have travelled to Italy, and Rome on many occasions and when it comes to a nice hotel with charm and the location that beat all... Then the Hotel Trevi is the place to stay. You could throw a blanket over many of the prime attractions from the doorstep of this hotel, you are literally at the Trevi Fountain, 15-20 minutes walk from the Colossuem, The Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, and all the great shopping places. There are many excellent places to eat with an abundance of Restaurants all within easy walk. This Hotel has a variety of room types and not all are at the exact location of the Hotel main building, they have expanded to use local buildings with modernised rooms, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for Location, Location, Location

Room Tip: They are all good but I do prefer the rooms away from the main Hotel building, although the main bui...
