This restaurant was given a 4 because of the service but if it were just for the food it'd be a 3. The person that seemed to be one of the owners was extremely helpful and friendly. He was very kind and went through the menu with us and gave us great recommendations. We ended up ordering the simple cacio e pepe and carbonara pastas. They were extremely cheesy which caused the dishes to taste salty. We have had various versions of these dishes at other restaurants in Rome such as at Armando's next to the Pantheon and it did not stand up. Da Armando al Pantheon has by far the best cacio e pepe and carbonara pastas in Rome!

Food here was very good, with explanations for those who weren't sure what to order. The food was very good, and the staff were highly efficient and friendly.
Other diners helped to make it even more fun, as they were hilarious, and liked to chat with everyone.
I had a seafood kebab, which was very nice and quite health conscious! The selection was good, and seemingly fresh, as some of the vegetables were definitely in season, and other diners were told that the selection was always about what the restaurant could get on the day. Highly recommended, but as it's small booking might be a good idea.

Absolute local cuisine. La mama welcomes you with open arms. The food is delicious…everything we ate was so yum yum yum.

The menu offers so much choice that it gets hard to actually pick something. We had de antipasti which was some kind of rice ball with mozzarella and a bread crust, a lovely baked sausage and some dried tomatoes.

Then, for starters a sumptuous plate of pasta vongolé and the gnocci which were fabulous. Our main courses were skewers of seafruit & fish and a marvellous plate of fried calamari and baby squid. That’s Italian seafood at its best ladies and gents. We came, we saw and it was good ( Veni, Vidi, Va bene). This is real good stuff and hands down one of the best places we had dinner. Their house wine is quite decent, not the very best, but then again…we prefer leaving room for the really good stuff.

It is advised that you make a reservation ahead. This place seems to have a good reputation, even amongst tourists. A special thank to la mama for the good care that evening.

Great place with friendly staff, great Roman food at reasonable prices. Good atmosphere in quite a small space but well run and efficient.

We selected this restaurant based on the other positive Trip Advisor reviews ... and we were not disppointed! We received the best service of our trip, with recommendations ranging from pasta dishes to day trips from Rome. The food was excellent - though it was hard to choose given the details our waiter provided when describing the meals. He also shared with us some special extras which we really appreciated and which served to set this dining experience apart from others.
